Dropping Knowledge: It's A Wonderful Life Predicts It All...

There are striking parallels from the 1946 film "It's A Wonderful Life" and last year's domino collapse of the banking systems. The character Mr. Porter portrays an incompassionate, hardfisted, selfish businessman that personifies Wallstreet's mentality to a letter. This is an accurate portrayal similar to the movie "Animal Farm" reflecting WW2. The symbolism in the movie title says it all is it wonderful life after all?!?!?!?! Check this clip out.

2009 Pro Bowl Selections

Every year someone complains that fans should not get to vote for the pro bowl. I agree, fan favorites and name recognition result in many players undeservingly making the pro bowl for years on end thanks to punk ass announcers that dumbass fans listen to.

First, there are no Bengals going to the pro bowl... There are 8 Vikings going to the pro bowl...

AFC
QB: Peyton, Phillip Rivers, Tom Brady
Snub: Big Ben not based on stats but on more clutch performances

RB: Chris Johnson, MJD, Ray Rice
Snub: Cedric Benson was a much bigger part of his offense than Ray Rice

WR: Andre Johnson, Reggie Wayne, Brandon Marshall, Wes Welker
Snub: Vincent Jackson should be there over Brandon Marshall and Wes Welker; Unfortunately plays in San Diego

TE: Dallas Clark, Antonio Gates
Snub: None

DE: Dwight Freeney, Robert Mathis, Mario Williams
Snub: Aaron Schoebel (This is them making up for Mario Williams not making it last year)

DT: Haloti Ngata, Vince Wilfork, Casey Hampton
Snub: No idea cuz we only ever talk about the perceived best nose tackles

OLB: Elvis Dumervil, Jams Harrison, Brian Cushing
Snub: Harrison made it on name and Cushing has been hyped all season. Cushing leads the AFC in tackles but only because he leads the league is assisted tackles, not even in the top 10 in solo tackles. This is the worst pick in the entire process

ILB: Ray Lewis, DeMeco Ryans
Snub: DJ Williams, more passes defensed and sackes than Ryan

CB: Nnamdi Asomougha, Darrelle Revis, Champ Bailey
Snub: Jonathan Joseph, Leon Hal
Note: At what point do we question Nnamdi? I saw him in 1 game this year and wasn't impressed...

FS: Ed Reed, Jarius Byrd
Snub: Antoine Bethea
SS: Brian Dawkins
Snub: Brandon Meriweather

NFC
QB: Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers, Brett Favre
Snub: McNabb, hell Romo deserves it more than Favre

RB: Adrian Peterson, Steven Jackson, DeAngelo Williams
Snub: Frank Gore, Ryan Grant
Note: Didn't think AP should be starting due to an obvious fumbling problem, but RBs just weren't that impressive this year

WR: Larry Fitzgerald, DeSean Jackson, Miles Austin, Sidney Rice
Snub: Steve Smith of the Giants or Marques Colston

TE: Vernon Davis, Jason Witten
Snub: Brent Celek, 8 TDs to Witten's 1 or even Tony Gonzalez over Witten

DE: Jared Allen, Julius Peppers, Trent Cole
Snub: Will Smith of the Saints, 13.5 sacks

DT: Darnell Dockett, Kevin Williams, Jay Ratliff
Snub: Ratliff should be starting

OLB: Lance Briggs, DeMarcus Ware, Brian Orakpo
Snub: Clay Matthews

ILB: Patrick Willis, Jonathan Vilma
Snub: None

CB: Asante Samuel, Charles Woodson, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie
Snub: None, thought DRC was undeserving but it's not as bad as I thought

FS: Darren Sharper, Nick Collins
SS: Adrian Wilson
Snubs: None

folks are really upset about the colts resting players and losing...

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4776421

i have no problem with this... if peyton or wayne or bethea anyone gets hurt then everyone calls in with the opposite feeling. i think you play your guys to a certain extent so that they don't lose their rhythm but other than that....

if they win it all he will be loved like coughlin in NY (eveyone hated coughlin and questioned his system constantly until he won). if they lose first post season game everyone will blame the time off... the outcome does not determined the integrity of the decision.

the only people that can be upset are fantasy football players and gamblers... get over it.

sports memories of the decade

http://espn.go.com/espn/page2/features/decademoments

for me it was between iverson "sitting here talking 'bout practice, not the game, not the game but.... practice, not the game that i, i, go out there and die for" and the kid scoring 20 points.

when i saw the list i still did not know the kid's name but "20 point sin 4 minutes" jogged memory and i knew exactly what this was and remembered this on outsides the lines... kid was on fire! the whole story is nuts... his first shot was a air ball i think and after that it was all bottoms. and you see after the thrid make the D checks him tighter and tighter but it didn't matter...

Week 15 Recap

The playoff race in the AFC is ridiculous.

Thursday night the Colts beat the Jaguars to stay perfect. Peyton did his thing when it was necessary. I'm still amazed that Thursday's game was the Jags first sellout of the season. This is a team on the brink of making the playoffs with one of the more well known RBs in the game in MJD... On another note David Garrard played his ass off until the last drive of the game after he took a big hit. I don't understand how they would consider replacing this guy with Tim Tebow. If they want big stats Garrard isn't the guy but he gets it done with guys like Mike Sims-Walker. Maybe if their defense was better they would win more.

The Cowboys upset the Saints Saturday night. Very few people gave the Cowboys a shot. They Cowboys had a 24-3 lead in the second half. Then the Saints turned it on and almost came back late in the 4th quarter. Tony Romo played well, Miles Austin was ridiculous. Drew Brees made some horrible plays that the Saints couldn't recover from for the first time this season. It looks like the Cowboys have a chance to make the playoffs. Oh the Cowboys signed Suisham to replace Nick Folk who missed a chipshot that would have ended the Saints' chance at a comeback. Does Jerry Jones not realize Suisham missed a chipshot at home against the Saints that allowed the Saints to comeback and win that game?

The Vikings were blown out by the sorry ass Panthers. So Brett Favre didn't want to come out of the game after he had taken a lot of hits and wasn't getting it done. I'm in the camp that Favre is getting a ridiculous pass for this shit. Childress was wrong but this was a bullshit move. If McNabb had done this last year when Andy Reid yanked him against the Ravens he would have been killed. Yes I am saying part of the reason that Brett Favre is getting a pass is because he is White. But it's more than that Brett Favre gets passes on a lot of stuff because everyone views him as a "regular" guy who is "just like them." As much press as Favre gets you would think he was the shit.

Let's just get to the playoff picture....

NFC:
1. Saints
2. Vikings or Eagles
3. Vikings or Eagles
4. Cardinals (division winner)
5. Packers
6. Cowboys or Giants (Cowboys - @Skins, Eagles; Giants - Panthers, @Vikings) Giants need to win 1 more than the boys.

AFC Shitstorm:
1. Colts
2. Chargers
3. Patriots
4. Bengals

Ravens - 8-6 - @Steelers, @ Raiders
Broncos - 8-6- @Eagles, Chiefs

Steelers - 7-7 - Ravens, @Dolphins
Dolphins - 7-7 - Texans, Steelers
Jaguars - 7-7 - @Patriots, @Browns
Titans - 7-7 - Chargers, @Seahawks
Jets - 7-7 - @Colts, Bengals
Texans - 7-7 - @Dolphins, Patriots

I think the Ravens make it by beating the Steelers this week.

I don't think the Broncos will make the playoffs, but if they upset the Eagles they are probably in. Has a team that started 6-0 ever not made the playoffs?

If the first two predictions are correct the Steelers can't make it. I don't think the Dolphins will make it or the Jets because Sanchez throws too many INTs.

This could come down to the Jaguars and Titans. I think if the Titans beat the Chargers they will make the playoffs. Hmm a 6-0 miss the playoffs and an 0-6 team make the playoffs...

Time to retire the football helmet?

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748704402404574527881984299454.html

Article basically goes into the slippery slope that players wouldn't use their bodies and heads as tackle-seeking missles if there were no helmets & less pads. Sure, I understand the concept of moral hazards enabling riskier behavoirs but this seems a lil' much.

Joe Lieberman Shut Down on the Senate Floor

Sen Joe Lieberman, the 1 person most responsible for screwing up the Senate Healthcare Bill, was not granted more time to speak which is apparently customary on the Senate floor. Freshman Senator Al Franken said nope... There is no official word if this is the beginning of the Democrat's retaliation, either way he deserves it.

Lieberman 3 months was ok with allowing the public to buy into medicare at age 55 instead of age 65. Then last week he changed his mind. Everyone had agreed and the bill was pretty much done, then this little piece of shit changed his mind. He sighted the enthusiasm of liberals as his reasoning for changing his position. Joe Lieberman is a douchebag, he got reelected as an Independent which is not a problem. But then he held the Democrats hostage by stating that he wouldn't vote with them unless he could keep his chairmanship, something he's not entitled to as he left the party. Now he has his chairmanship and he is pulling this shit? If I lived in Connecticut I would try and get him impeached. As an Independent I don't think this is how he should be acting, I don't really like the deal cutting to begin with but if you are going to do it you can't renig...

Healthcare stocks have doubled recently... Thanks Joe, that means healthcare costs are going to continue to rise. Someone should take him out behind the capital and beat his ass.

Week 14 Recap

The Bengals showed many flaws against the Vikings. They seemed to run when they should pass and pass when they should run. Carson Palmer made some suspect decisions. The defense played well but the Bengals haven't been able to capitalize on potential turnovers, INTs in particular. The Bengals probably won't get a first round bye and need to figure some things out or they will be bounced in the first round. The Vikings looked like they bounced back however Brett Favre is starting to look old.

The Cardinals continued their inconsistent play in losing to the 49ers. Kurt Warner had one of those games that makes you wonder if he should really be in the Hall of Fame. I don't see this team getting close to the Super Bowl again, but if they click they are dangerous.

The Cowboys continued to lose in December as the Chargers played an ok game. Rivers was unable to connect with VJ and Floyd as much as usual however he made the plays to get it done. The Cowboys are now 0-2 in December and look like they could make Trey right by going 0-5.

DeSean Jackson went off and returned a punt for a TD and had a long TD reception. Some fool said he is the new Devin Hester, that's crazy... DJ is killin it but he is not the returner that Hester was 2 years ago. The Eagles look dangerous but as usual they are not built to run the football. The Giants look like they are ready to fade.

Playoff picture, I think the Cowboys may be able to back into the playoffs. They are not going to beat the Saints unless the Saints screw up. This is what the NFC looks like:

Saints & Vikings get the byes
Eagles win the East
Cardinals win the West
Packers get the 1st wild card

Cowboys 8-5, Giants 7-6, Falcons 6-7 and 49ers 6-7 and fighting for the last spot. This is why the Cowboys may back into the playoffs. The 49ers play the Eagles ths week but then the Lions and Rams.... If the 49ers go 2-1 and the Cowboys go 1-2 the NFL's tiebreaker rules come into play. If Trey is right the Cowboys will lose all 5 games so it wouldn't matter.

AFC
Colts & Chargers get the byes unless the Bengals beat them this weekend and finish at least 2-1

Bengals win the North
Patriots win the East
Broncos & Ravens win the wild cards

Yes the Ravens will win the wild card. They close with the Bears at home, at the Steelers and the Raiders. The other teams have tougher schedules.

Offensive Player of the Year:
Chris Johnson, especially if he gets to 2,000 yards
1626 yards, 11 TDs, 20 runs of 20+ yards

Drew Brees is the runner up
3800 yards, 32 TDs, 10 INTs

Defensive Player of the Year:
Charles Woodson, this is not the first time I said this either.

Elvis Dumervil has 15 sacks and 3 forced fumbles
Jared Allen has 12.5 sacks an INT returned for a TD and 3 forced fumbles
Charles Woodson has 2 sacks, 8 INTs, 2 TDs and 4 forced fumbles

Offensive Player of the Year:
Percy Harvin has 682 yards receiving and 6 TDs
Michael Crabtree has 473 yards and 2 TDs and he plays with Alex Smith, he can make a case for ROY. Of course he won't get it because he held out.

Defensive Player of the Year:
Brian Orakpo has 11 sacks, tied for 4th in the league

Brian Cushing has 112 tackles, 2.5 sacks and 3 INTs
Cushing is 6th in total tackles but only 20th in solo tackles; not a LB think either, only 4 players ahead of him in solo tackles aren't linebackers

The league will probably give it to Cushing though...

This kid is trippin. I blame the parents. A lot of people get the "if somebody hits you, hit them back" speech. But at some point you have to grow out of that and high school is that point. This is a problem amplified by young women having unwanted children. Freakonomics touched on this, it's the chapter about Roe v. Wade having more to do with the drop in crime in NYC than Rudy Guliani.

Top 10 CBs by Contract

Obviously there is subjectivity that goes into determining a CBs worth. Do you want to conservative corner who makes a QB think before throwing to a receiver or do you want that corner who could take the ball back for 6 by baiting a QB into thinking the window is open. Needless to say the greats do the latter and the unknowns take the conservative approach...

1. Nnamdi Asomugha, $15.2M/year $25M guarunteed, deserves to be on top right now because he usually shuts everyone down week in and week out.

2. Dunta Robinson, $10M (franchise), is way overpaid. 9 passes defensed, no INTs, 2 INTs last year... 1 career TD, 63 passes defensed and 13 INTs in a 6 year career. WOW...

3. Asante Samuel, $9.5M/year $23.6M guarunteed, the Patriots clearly miss him, example #1 of their arrogance biting them in the ass... 7 INTs this year, 33 in his 7 year career to go with 4 TDs, 5 forced fumbles, 110 passes defensed in his career...

4. Nate Clements, $9.1M/year $21.6M guarunteed, 9 years 30 INTs, 114 passes defensed, 17 forced fumbles 5 TDs. 1 INT this year, 2 last year, 4 the year before. Clements isn't a CB that is feared and many a WRs have burnt the 49ers since he's been there. I think he's overpaid, if you are making this much you need to catch the football not just knock it down....

5. DeAngelo Hall, $9M/ year $21.5M guarunteed, 7 years 26 INTs, 4 of those coming this year, 76 passes defensed. 2 TDs for his career. Hall has had a crazy career, being traded by the Falcons to the Raiders and then cut after 8 games and signed by the Redskins. 1 thing is for sure, he has gotten PAID. He is on his 3rd big contract, even though he didn't make everything he was supposed to in Oakland he made ~$8M in 8 games... At the end of the day his contract doesn't look too ridiculous, he is at the bottom of the category Asante Samuel is in.

6. Chris Gamble, $8.8M/year $23M guarunteed, 6 years 23 INTs, 70 passes defensed 2 TDs. I have to admit I don't know much about him, but his stats don't lie.

7. Corey Webster, $8.7M/year $21M guarunteed, THIS GUY IS OVERPAID. 5 years 6 INTs, 56 passes defensed and I've seen this guy play enough to know he doesn't shut anyone down. Can you pay a guy that much money to deflect passes and not catch them?

8. Kelvin Hayden, $8.6M/year $17.8M guarunteed, 5 years 7 INTs, 3 in '07 & '08, 28 passes defensed. This must have been a bad defensive team trying to stop the bleeding. Played 10 games last year and 5 this year. Bill Polian what were you thinking?

9. Terrance Newman, $8.4M/year $21.9M guarunteed, 7 years 21 INTs and 103 passes defensed, 2 TDs... Missed 9 games between '07 & '08. He is not a shut down corner and some think Mike Jenkins has surpassed him as the best CB in Dallas.

10. Marcus Trufant, $8.4M/year $21M guarunteed, years 18 INTs, 94 passes defensed, 1 TD... Healthy every year except this 1 in which he's played only 6 games.

The following players should be on the chopping block in the offseason due to the uncapped year (no salary cap penalty for cutting players). These players are older and/or just don't justify their contracts. Any time potentially half the top corners could get cut in an offseason owners/GMs got a little to happy handing out big contracts.
Terrance Newman
Dunta Robinson (just don't franchise him)
Nate Clements
Corey Webster
Kelvin Hayden
Chris Gamble (on the fence)

WHAT... Charlie Gibson Talks Clipse album...

ABC News anchor Charlie Gibson features the new Clipse album "Til The Caskit Drops" on his evening segment news...

Week 13 Recap

Jets beat the Bills
Jaguars beat the Texans
Bengals beat the Lions
Chargers beat the Browns
Bears beat the Rams
Seahawks beat the 49ers
Raiders beat the Steelers
Panthers beat the Bucs
Broncos beat Chiefs
Dolphins beat Patriots
Packers beat Ravens

The Colts stopped VY's winning streak at 5 games to get to 12-0 and pretty much lock up home field advantage for the playoffs which is huge for the Colts, unless they play the Chargers... VY continued to play well, he had an interception however that was his receivers fault. Doesn't look like the Titans will make the playoffs, will they actually improve their team in the offseason?...

The Cardinals put a beat down on a team many were saying is the most complete in the NFL. Yeah I told someone, Wilbur, that the Vikings hadn't been playing anybody and what happened the inconsistent Cardinals beat them. Are the Cardinals gearing up for a playoff run? They are dangerous but I don't see an inconsistent team making a run 2 years in a row. I will repeat what I said Sunday, Fitz is not making the play that Anquan made on the sideline for a TD. Mr. All Day gained 16 yards on 13 carries, Old Man from the Sip threw 2 INTs which were horrible.

The Saints somehow beat the Redskins which they had no business doing. Who misses a chipshot to ice a game? Apparently the former Redskins kicker, yes he's been cut. Are the Saints lucky or taking advantage of opportunities? They need to get it together before the playoffs before luck runs out on them and they are remembered like the Vikings team who couldn't beat the Falcons in the NFC Championship game which led to a boring Superbowl beat down...

The Eagles destroyed the Falcons. Only reason to discuss this game is to discuss Mike Vick. He threw and ran for a TD in his return to ATL. The scores were not critical to the game but showed that he can still play. Will we see more Mike Vick outside the Wildcat?

The Cowboys continued their December losing against the Giants. Horrible tackling allowed the Giants to win the game along with a not quite clutch performance by Romo. Romo played well but couldn't hit a wide open Roy Williams for a TD late in the game. Didn't get hit, no hands in his face, just couldn't get it done... The kicker, Nick Folk also missed a FG he had no business missing... With the Chargers, Saints, Redskins and Eagles coming up will the Cowboys make the playoffs? Trey said they would close the season 0-5. I don't think they are going to make the playoffs. Looking at NFC records it's a toss up. The Chargers are rolling and know what to expect from a Wade Phillips defense, this Sundays game could be a ridiculous shootout. The Saints could hiccup and lose to the Cowboys, but if their mind is right it's a wrap. Skins and Eagles could be split.

Playoffs:
AFC
Bye: Colts, Chargers(Boys,Bengals,Titans,Skins)/Bengals(Vikings,Chargers,Chiefs,Jets)

Chargers/Bengals
Patriots because their division sucks
Jaguars
Broncos

Ravens, Jets, Dolphins, Steelers are 6-6
The Broncos if any are the team that could stumble, Eagles and Colts are on the schedule

NFC
Bye: Saints, Vikings

Packers
Eagles
Cardinals
Cowboys/Giants

It's time to start picking favorites. I want to see the Eagles and Saints in the NFC Championship game. Cardinals vs. Saints would be a good game too depending on which Cardinals team shows up, doubt this happens though.

In the AFC I think we are looking at a Colts Chargers matchup in the AFC championship if the Chargers get the bye. The Patriots are a wildcard because they can put up points and some sketchy teams will be in the playoffs this year.

Shit so easy, I might send this to the mixtape Weezy

So, I'll admit this up front. I don't neceessarily need to be eligntened or listen to anything postive/constructive/meaningful in music, I've got other interests (reading, etc..) that peak my intellectual currosity.

My favorite songs and a notable quotable (remember this from the old Source magazine?):

1. Swag Surfin: "I’m runnin with the blucker, Young Money motherfucker/You think we gone do our thang? Well ain’t it sunny in the summer?"
3. D.O.A.: "I drank verses & eat hooks/I got the stove on my waist and we cooks/I’m in the way, you can’t pass like Aaron Brooks."
5. Wasted: "I shake you pussies up like a vibrator"
8. Banned From TV: "Smoke weed, talk shit like Lane Kiffin"
12: Wetter: "she love my style, but thats expected, she comin back to you, the chance is anorexic"
15: Run this town: So many lines, i'll just use my text I sent Emeka and Tommy. "Yo, wayne just killed the run this town beat. there's a dying beat running around the yard like a fucking dead chicken with his head cut off!"
16: I gotta feeling: "Kush got my dutch fat as fuck/Weezy F., I’m bad as luck/ I’m already at the top, I’m bout to pull the ladder up/Flow crazy, I need a counselor/I’m Hip-Hop’s announcer/ I’m in the gun club, do you wanna meet the bouncer?/Been a beast and still I am/Now I’m rock and still I jam/Few saggin with me got that white girl like Will.I.Am"
17: O Lets do it (Aye!): "Take a nigga bitch, she ride my dick like she cycling/Then she can’t walk, run or jump like white men.”

NYC 4040 CLUB SECURITY ... YOU DON'T WANT IT

Week 12 Recap

The Packers rolled over the Lions as a hurt Matt Stafford (dislocated non-throwing shoulder) threw 1 TD and 4 INTs. Culpepper found out the morning of the game and was apparently pissed. I think I would be pissed too if I thought I was playing and the rookie who had been throwing ridiculous INTs got to start and apparently didn't learn anything because he threw 4 more INTs. 2 of those INTs went to Charles Woodson who returned 1 for a TD. I think Woodson is a HOFer, a couple of you think he needs a ring. Aaron Rodgers is my MVP so far this season, as I said yesterday I weight performances through adversity higher than those who are front running. Brett has some great stats but his team is stacked. ESPN first take, Friday morning, Marcellus Wiley said Manning, Jalen Rose said Drew Brees, Skip Bayless stepped up and said Aaron Rodgers.... I agree with Skip Bayless?

The Cowboys beat the Raiders to surprise no one. Their offense was spotty and very out of rhythm at times. Romo is still missing open targets for no reason. Miles Austin got back to putting up the best numbers on the team, 7 for 145 and 1 TD. December will be an interesting month as the Cowboys have always (recently) rolled through November and self-destructed in December. @Giants, Chargers, @Redskins, @Saints, Eagles.... 2-3 is definitely possible.

The Broncos woke up and beat a Giants team who looked horrible. What does this game mean? It was a short week and the Giants are battling injuries. I don't know what to take away from this game as it should have been more competitive. I'm still not buying the Broncos and Cowboys and Eagles fans shouldn't be ready to write off the Giants, especially a team that has to play them next week...

Thursday wasn't a good day for football as none of the games were competitive. I don't think Detroit should lose their Thanksgiving game because the Lions and Cowboys were the only 2 teams willing to host Thanksgiving games decades ago. The Lions are getting better and if Stafford pulls his head out of his ass and gets the ball to Calvin Johnson they could have some close games. There is no excuse for the Cowboys to be playing the Raiders on Thanksgiving. I actually can't remember the last time the Cowboys game was really entertaining, they either get beat bad or they roll over their opponent.

VY was ballin as he led his team on a 99 yard TD drive with 2:37 left in the 4th quarter. It wasn't Chris Johnson, or VY scrambling, he won the game with his arm. 5 straight wins after the Titans started 0-6 under Kerry Collins... He is the frontrunner for comeback player of the year. Next week they go to Indianapolis, not sure they can pull that one off but it is a division game so they definitely have a chance. Matt Leinert didn't play bad in place of Kurt Warner.

The Colts beat the Texans to win their division and stay undefeated at 11-0. The Texans jumped to the early 14-0 lead but couldn't even handle that. It seems like the Texans start fast every week but then fade as the game goes on, I place that squarely on the coach... Gary Kubiak 8-8 and no playoffs for the 3rd straight year should get you fired.

The Ravens beat the Steelers, Dennis Dixon played well regardless of the fact it was his first start. He almost got the Steelers there until he threw a late INT. Hines Ward was "frustrated" because Ben Roethlisburger didn't play because of a concussion. Has Ward ever played after a concussion? Dude should shut the hell up...

The Saints are 11-0 after whoppin the Patriots' ass. Drew Brees has had his 2 best games in weeks when he is playing my fantasy team... The Saints are the best team in the league. The Saints answered a lot of questions by handing out this beat down. Will they win next week? Right now it seems like they may be playing to their level of competition.

Gotta throw it out there, TO is not washed up. It looks like another offensive coordinator/coach needed to pull their head out of their ass and utilize him. TO's last 2 games, which came after his coach was fired have resulted in almost 400 yards receiving and 2 TDs for a season total of 659 yards and 3 TDs. Skip Bayless' punk ass is on vacation, he probably called in sick to avoid giving TO any type of credit.

The Bills beat the Dolphins
The 49ers beat the Jaguars
The Bengals beat the Browns
The Jets beat the Panthers
The Vikings beat the Bears
The Chargers beat the Chiefs

The Chargers are quietly positioning themselves for a possible 1st round bye, tied at 8-3 for 2nd place in the AFC.

The NFC looks easier to predict than the AFC...
Saints
Vikings
Eagles
Packers
Cardinals
Cowboys if they don't collapse (Falcons, Giants, 49ers)

Colts
Bengals
Chargers

Patriots
Ravens
Broncos
Jaguars
Steelers
Titans?

Lincoln University Imposing Fitness Standards to Graduate

http://www.cnn.com/2009/HEALTH/11/30/lincoln.fitness.overweight/index.html

Lincoln University, in Pennsylvania not Missouri is requiring students who have a Body Mass Index (BMI) at 30 or higher to take a physical fitness course that meets for 3 hours a week and complete the course in order to graduate. A 3 time honor student wrote an editorial wondering why all students are not required to take the course. She has a "slightly" high BMI as she put it and is required to take the class. I like the idea.

Should a university take this kind of step? Seeing as Lincoln is an HBCU it's not surprising. HBCUs take steps to put students on what they perceive to be the right path i.e. visitation hours, curfews or no visitation at all, limited coed dorms, etc.

The article states 12 to 15 students will need to take the course in January. 620 students have tested out or taken the course with 80 remaining to be tested. The article didn't specify but I think those numbers are for the first class (entered Fall 2006) to fall under the requirement.

Week 11 Recap

I'll start off with my first Pro Bowl ballot.

QB:
Brees, McNabb, Rodgers
Manning, Rivers, Palmer
RB:
Peterson, S. Jackson, D Williams
MJD, Johnson, Benson
WR:
Fitz, Colston, Sidney Rice, D Jackson
A Johnson, Wayne, Ocho Cinco, VJ
TE:
Vernon Davis, Gonzalez
Clark, Gates

Safety:
Sharper
Reed
Corner:
Woodson, Samuel, Sheldon Brown
Johnathan Joseph, Leon Hall, Jarius Byrd not available (League leading 8 INTs)
Couldn't vote for Nnamdi as he has 1 pick and 2 passes defensed. It's been 10 games.
DE:
Forgot about Jared Allen... Peppers, Cole
Freeney, Mathis, Schoebel
ILB:
Bradie James, Willis
Ray Lewis (barely)
OLB:
Ware, Orakpo, Briggs
Suggs, Harrison, refuse to vote for Cushing

Obviously my votes are biased, I ignore players who pad their stats by blowing out JV teams (Brady, Moss) as well as those who can't play the real position (Welker, WRs were meant to be covered by CBs not LBs)

On to the week of upsets.

The Bengals lost to the Raiders... This isn't the most shocking thing in the world but damn. No Ace I am not jumping off the bandwagon. They will still make the playoffs, the question is will they have a bye, home game or will they be the 5 or 6 seed. They swept the Steelers and Ravens but losing to the Raiders left the door open.

The Steelers lost to the Chiefs. Didn't watch the game but I know they had a commanding lead in this game and they came from ahead to lose it. I never thought they were going to repeat, other people are probably thinking the same now.

The Colts beat the Ravens. No surprise there although the game was close. Steelers v Ravens next Sunday night. Must win if the Ravens want to be in the playoffs. Roethlisburger is hurt and so is Charlie Batch (his backup) so Dennis Dixon could start... That would be a win for the Ravens. Colts are 10-0, can they run the table? I think they play Houston next.

The Cowboys beat the Redskins 7-6 on a late TD pass. Romo tried to get Roy Williams killed a couple of times. He drops too many passes to be the WR who was supposed to replace TO. Overall the Cowboys receivers looked like shit in this game, Roy is still a bust. I thought the Cowboys were supposed to be great in November and then suck in December? Jason Campbell is getting way too much blame for the Redskins problems. Their O Line is horrible.

The Giants halted their losing streak by beating the Falcons. Matt Ryan the NFL has figured you out. Not sure this team will make the playoffs. I bet it's not so easy to forget about those great Michael Vick years right about now...

The Eagles beat the Bears to stay in the hunt for the NFC East.
Saints beat the Bucs to stay underrated
Vikings destroyed the Seahawks, do we know how good they are? When is te last time they played a good team? You people thought Denver and the Giants were great.

VY led the Titans deep out of their own territory to within field goal range to beat the Texans down in that shitty ass city... VY looks like he has learned how to play in the NFL. Chris Johnson is brasting on everyone. The Texans are still the underacheiving team we all know. Will Kubiak finally get fired? This was one of the few good Monday night games this season. These teams really don't like each other.

If I forgot anything let me know....

I mean he's a legend and all but I sampled the entire album and quite honestly I anticipated better. Your name alone can take you so far these days. The album has reasonably decent content but when I hear it I feel unmoved makes me wanna pop in David Koz and work on my simulations, to be frank.....

Week 10 Recap

The Bengals beat the Steelers to complete the sweep of the Ravens and the Steelers this year. The should win the division, but they are only a 1.5 games ahead of Pittsburgh. It is to there advantage that Baltimore and Pitt have to play each other again. How far can the Bengals go? They haven't dominated anyone except the Bears and no one is ready to put them up there with Indy and New England. This team has improved a lot but the playoffs are a different story... They signed Larry Johnson for insurance on Benson's injury, nice hedge.

Speaking of the playoffs being a different story, and December for that matter the Cowboys lost to the Packers. I predicted this not out of spite but because it's what the Cowboys do, lose games they should win. To the Packers credit they played a good game and figured out how to keep Aaron Rodgers from getting killed. These 2 teams could end up jockying for a wild card if Dallas isn't careful. Roy Williams continues to be a bust despite putting up some big numbers the past 2 games. 2 games in over 1 full season doesn't justify a 1st, 3rd, 6th and $9M a year. Tony Romo tried to test Charles Woodson at the goaline for some reason. What's up wtih Romo testing #1 corners in the endzone? Woodson played a ridiculous game by the way matched up against Jason Witten. 9 tackles, 1 sack, 2 forced fumbles and 1 INT.

The Eagles lost to the Chargers, not too surprising really. The Chargers seem like they have figured out how to play football earlier than they did last year. What are they going to do in the playoffs though? If they aren't going to rely on the run then stop relying on the run now and learn how to throw 50 times a game. The Eagles need to figure out who they want to be, if they get it together they can still win the division.

The Saints barely beat the Rams, and I do mean barely. The Rams ran a play to try and win the game with seconds left and if they converted they would have won the game. The Saints are the shakiest 9-0 team I can ever remember. Maybe they need a loss to get back to the way they were ballin earlier this season.

The Cardinals beat the Seahawks at home, no big deal except they almost didn't. But that's the Cardinals. Anquan had over 100 yards for the 1st time this season, talk is the team is "fed up" with him and he will be gone in the offseason. I'm calling it right now, that is not a good idea. I hope they do trade him so he can get paid, I can see a team paying him $5-$6M a year. Where will he go, I'll have to think about that. He is from Florida though... First thought says Miami, not Tampa or Jacksonville (which may be LA).

VY led the Titans to their 3rd straight win over the Bills. Since he became the starter his passer rating hasn't been below 90. There are still 7 games left but it looks like VY is on his way to winning his job back. I wanted to see him go somewhere else where an owner would actual surround him with more than a great RB. TO popped off on the sidelines, it looked like everybody was on a different page in that instance so it's understandable. That team is horrible, their offense is beyond horrible, I can understand why he popped off.

The Redskins beat the Broncos... This is the team I have been waiting for. I know Kyle Orton got hurt, but they got lucky on their early scores anyway. How often do you get 2 ridiculously blown coverages in the 1st quarter? At 6-3 they are falling fast. I think the Chargers are going to win the AFC West.

And the decision of the year, Bill Belicheck going for it on 4th & 2 from his own 28 yeard line with just over 2 minutes to go in the 4th quarter up by more than a field goal. Even though he doesn't believe in his defense, it's still a stupid call. I thought the game was over when Randy Moss caught the TD in the 3rd. I turned the game off and turned Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on... Jim Caldwell deserves credit for finding ways to get it done with that defense that wasn't great to begin with and is now suffering through injuries to 75% of it's starters. Shout out to Antoine Bethea, "the real HU, the Mecca, Howard University"

Vikings beat the Lions, Stafford still sucks.
Chiefs beat the Raiders. Jockeying for #1 pick next year.
Jay Cutler threw 5 INTs and single-handedly lost to the 49ers on Thursday.
Jacksonville beat the Jets, no more talking from the Jets.
Miami beat the Bucs
Atlanta lost to Carolina, that Matt Ryan sophomore slump has arrived

Curren$y - Life Under The Scope

I totally am vibing with this music video.

Week 9 Post

The Sapphire Rainmakers got behind early and couldn't comeback to win the game. Due to a Notre Dame like schedule Sapphire was not prepared to make adjustments on the fly. The team still had a chance to win the game however the defense which got the team back in the game couldn't stop a long 3rd down conversion. I'll be nice and individual players won't be named. Shout out to Demetrius Mosley for taping the game so that some of our more optimistic players have a better idea of their abilities...

The Giants imploded as they lost to the Chargers. Conservative play calling (a requirement when your QB's name is Eli) won't get it done in the NFL. Phillip Rivers rebounded from throwing a late INT to throw the game winning TD to Emeka's boy VJ. LT is done, the Chargers need to draft a workhorse. Phillip Rivers is definitely better than Eli, the only reason Eli has a ring and has been to the Pro Bowl is because he was on the Superbowl team. He didn't lead the team to the win.

The Colts managed to beat the Texans however their offense had to settle for FGs on more than one occasion. With multiple injuries to their secondary they are going to have to score more points to keep winning. The Texans are quite for real, they could make the playoffs or finish 8-8 for the third straight year.

The Saints started out slow again but were able to come back again. It was a divisional game and the Panthers have improved but the Saints don't look as impressive as they did a few weeks ago. There first loss could be soon.

The Bengals dominated the Ravens to get to 6-2. The Ravens fell to 4-4. Trey and Emeka need to stop calling Carson a bum. Esteban is having a great season, but he has lost a fumble in both games against the Ravens. The Bengals will make the playoffs, not sure if they win the AFC North. I still think the Ravens have an outside shot at making the playoffs.

The Miami Dolphins continued running their JV offense and got beat by the Patriots.

The Bucs, wearing their peach uniforms, stunned the Packers in Tampa. Josh Freeman threw 3 TDs in his first start. The Packers O Line resembled the Sapphire Rainmakers'

The Lions had a chance to beat the Seahawks but Matthew Stafford threw 5 INTs... Why isn't Daunte Culpepper throwing the ball to Megatron?

The Falcons beat the Redskins, no surprise there. Laron Landry made a late hit on Matt Ryan and DeAngelo Hall ends up barking at his former teammates. Mike Smith ends up in his face like he wants to go and now the league is investigating.

The Bears lost to the Cardinals who decided to act like an NFL team this week. Anquan Boldin apparently wasn't told he wasn't playing, he warmed up and when he returned to his locker his pads were gone. A couple of unnamed players say Whisenhunt tried to tell Q but he wasn't listening. Whatever, you can't trust the Cardinals.

The 49ers lost to the Titans who have now won 2 straight after returning to VY as the starter. Say what you want about him... (Ace) but the guy wins football games. It's only 2 games but this is a good start. Kinda surprised this isn't more of a story. ESPN was all over VY when he got benched and they would be if he was losing games...What is going on with the 49ers? They have lost 4 straight to fall to 3-5.

The Steelers beat the Broncos, didn't watch the game. Kyle Orton threw 3 INTs including a pick 6. The Broncos are now 6-2 and looking like the Broncos I was expecting to see 4 weeks ago. They could make the playoffs but they won't make any noise.

NFC Playoffs
Saints
Vikings
Eagles
Cardinals

Atlanta, Dallas, Giants and Packers are in the running

AFC Playoffs
Colts
Bengals
Chargers
Patriots
Steelers

Ravens, Broncos, Texans are all in the hunt

Larry Johnson got cut by the Chiefs. The Chargers could use him, but they won't sign them. Where will he land? Clinton Portis is hurt and the Redskins could use a jolt...

ewing vs david robinson...guru is tripping

ewing looked so clumsy in these...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qWhAtFQUhpo&feature=related
people have amnesia and remember one missed lay up. he has 9-10 game winners, clutch baskets, and playoff performances in these....

here is my unbiased posting... i looked at 4 david robinson highlight... most were wack... this was good... he stands strong against jordan 2x and posterizes the dream... not too many post season highlights... no big game stakes
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-lQXxRJ-zrU

people forget how athletic ewing was too.... in those late post season runs of the mid-late 90s he had already peaked.... his peak was ~93 whereas robinson was ~96...

now EVERYONE remembers the dream beating ewing head to head in the finals but "his greatest individual performance in playoff history" (as quoted by the narrator) came a round before destroying the leagues MVP... that would be mr robinson... kinda feels like dirk's MVP.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hW4uXlRGAF0&feature=related

just for kicks
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sm4FchPJQPM

ace, to prove his point swore robinson was the spurs best player during their 99 playoff run and first title. ... swore robinson was 20 and 10 meanwhile i said he was 15 and 10...i stated duncan was the best player....

duncan in 99 post season avg'ed 23.2 pts and 11.5 rebs
robinson in 99 post season avg'ed 15.6 pts and 9.9 rebs

folks forget the title the spurs won the knicks were an 8th seed as ewing missed alot of games due to injury but limped backed for the playoffs. so they beat the #1 seeded heat as a loaded 8th seed win he came back but young duncan was too much for them especially with aged ewing coming off injury... timmy and (a younger than ewing but declining) robinson wore him down further.... great coaching....

case and point robinson owes his ring to duncan... while they were both the best players on their respective teams playing little talent ewing accomplished more and was better.

also ace tried to say the spurs played in big post season games pre duncan and robinson led them deep into the playoffs http://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/SAS/

90 out 2nd round
91 out 1st round
92 out 1st round
93 out 2nd round
94 out 1st round
95 out conf finals where dream BEASTED on him
they would continue being bums of the west until duncan arrived

ace trying to prove his point swore the spurs were a threat when i mentioned the 6 teams that ruled the west in the 90s.....lakers, blazers, sonics, suns, rockets, jazz (think who jordan beat for the most part). everyone gets old, jordan retires, spurs get duncan and people act like robinson led them to a championship...

Fashawn Album Release Show/ and Interview.

Robinson vs. Ewing

Figured we might as well close this out. Trey's says that it's a wrap. Ewing over Robinson. I say it's close, but I take Robinson in his prime over Ewing in his prime. I pulled the article below of NBA/Espn experts. They have the list like this.

Years PPG RPG BPG PER
Abdul-Jabbar 20 24.6 11.2 2.6 24.6
Chamberlain 14 30.1 22.9 N/A 26.2
Russell 13 15.1 22.5 N/A 18.9
O'Neal 14 26.3 11.8 2.5 27.8
Olajuwon 18 21.8 11.1 3.1 23.6
Malone 21 20.3 12.3 1.3 22.0
Walton 10 13.3 10.5 2.2 20.0
Robinson 14 21.1 10.6 3.0 26.2
Mikan 7 23.1 13.4 N/A 27.1
Ewing 17 21.0 9.8 2.4 21.0

Basically Robinson #8 alltime and Ewing #10. Obviously there has to be an * on this list because it has Walton as #9, which is ridiculous.

Anyway, let the debate begin.

Another fail posting, Punt Return stylee

Week 8 Recap

The Ravens took on the form of a Phoenix and handed the Broncos their first loss of the season. Sorry for the relatively poetic beginning but the Ravens that played yesterday look different from the team we've watched thus far. Ray Lewis has definitely slowed down, the team is definitely not better off without him but he has missed some tackles and been out of place a couple of times. He is not as bad as the Patriots dinosaur LBs of '07 and '08 but his coordinator should find more ways to protect him. They play the Bengals, Colts, Steelers twice and the Packers. If they go 6-3 and finish 10-6 will they be in the playoffs?
The Broncos finally lost, something I thought was going to happen a few weeks ago. How will they respond? They don't have a difficult schedule and a 1.5 game lead over the Chargers. They will play the Raiders, Redskins and Chiefs twice. Tough games against the Steelers, Colts and Eagles. They also play the Giants but who knows if that's a tough game or not.

The Colts beat the 49ers without Manning throwing a TD. The Colts defense is still a little suspect as they let Frank Gore run through multiple tackles for a long TD. The 49ers are the best 3-4 team in the league. Not sure if they will make the playoffs, but the Cardinals are inconsistent enough to walk down especially with only a 1 game lead. Vernon Davis may finally be living up to his draft hype and Alex Smith looks like he could still be a starting QB...

The Jets have cooled off and are 4-4. All the talk and hype have faded surrounding the D and Mark Sanchez looks like a rookie. Miami is 3-4 but I can't take the wildcat seriously enough to care about this team.

The Eagles beat the shit out of the Giants 40-17. The Eagles lost to the Raiders but they have bounced back, the Giants lost to the Saints, Cardinals and now the Eagles... Who knows if they will bounce back. This team is dangerous, even though they have injuries on defense the offense has enough weapons to win big games. Eagles v Cowboys Sunday night in Philly.

Not sure this game needs to be discussed but some may try and call me biased... The Cowboys beat the awful ass Seahawks in Dallas. Romo seems to be playing well, but he hasn't faced any good DBs since he tried to go at Champ Baley... Romo and Roy Williams still aren't on the same page, dude is a bust. The secondary has some scary holes in it and I don't trust this team in a big game.

The Vikings beat the Packers in Brett's return to Lambeau Field... Didn't watch the game... I'm pretty sure they have wrapped up the division so we'll see what happens in the playoffs.

The Cardinals fell apart at home as Kurt "Hall of Famer?" Warner through 5 INTs... Too bad Ricky doesn't read the blog because on Friday he swore the Cardinals have something special and they are going back to the Superbowl.

The AFC North could have 3 teams in the playoffs
The NFC West may not deserve a playoff spot depending on what the 49ers do...
The Eagles are the best team in the NFC East
Does anyone still think Matt Cassel should have gotten a big contract?
Where has all the Rex Ryan talk gone?
I'm not sold that Romo can keep it together late in a big game

15 Year Old Girl Gang Raped at Homecoming Dance

This occurred outside the Richmond High School Homecoming dance last Saturday in Richmond, CA. The girl was gang raped by more than 5 people.

This girl knew her attackers, some were "freinds". It has been estimated that up to 12 people stood by and watched this happen over the course of 2.5 hours while no one called the police. Some of the students at the school put the blame on her because she was apparently drunk. It has taken days for authorities to start to get to the bottom of this because people aren't talking... One Man's NBA Preview: 2009/10 Edition

Folks,

The NBA season kicks off tonight… While this may not be a big deal to those still firmly entrenched in the NFL season, there are still some die hard NBA fans such as myself in the world and of course there are those poor Raiders and Redskins fans, who have no reason to watch the NFL anymore, so must turn their attention to the NBA. For those folks, I present the annual, One Man's NBA Preview.

10 Questions prior to the upcoming NBA season:

Will the Celtics or Lakers win 72 games?

So Rasheed says that the Celtics can do it. Phillip says that a coastal team would never be able to do it because of the travel times. Frankly, I don't see a team being able to put together 82 games of hard core competitive basketball every night. Especially hated teams like the Celtics and the Lakers. Basically every time the Lakers or Celtics come to town, the games are sold out locally and the home team is pumped up to give their best effort. Basically, every game is a big game for your opponent. The 1996 Bulls were a perfect storm. MJ was coming off his suspension for gambling (don't believe otherwise) , and it was his first full season back, so teams were just in awe of getting to play against MJ again (so not exactly giving their full competitive effort). MJ, perhaps the most competitive person ever, had to reclaim his crown as the league's best player in the game after getting stripped by Nick Anderson in the deciding game of the Orlando series the year before. So MJ was pushing everyone is practice everyday and he had the team to respond because… Rodman was on his best behavior after being booted from the Spurs, Kukoc was excited to be playing with MJ and Pippen was just happy to not have all the pressure on him again. Basically, it all fell into place fort he Bulls and they won 72. I don't see veteran teams like the Celtics or Lakers being able to pull it off.

Can Shaq put together one more season?
I think he has one last good season left in him. Shaq was rock solid last year in carrying a mess of a Suns team. And we all know he's motivated, so he should be in shape and ready to go. Lebron has the personality and the game to mesh well with Shaq. They will put together a solid season and battle the Celtics for the eastern conference championship obviously… the question is whether Lebron and Shaq will be enough. Sadly, the real problem in is Coach Mike Brown. Someone needs to pull his play calling duties like the Redskins did to Jim Zorn. Barring that, I think they fall short to the Celtics.

Crazy summer of free agency… Which title contender added the best new piece? Orlando, Boston, San Antonio, Cleveland, or Lakers?
Vince doesn't play D, so I'm sure he'll bump heads with Coach Ron Jeremy at some point, but he gets to play 4th fiddle to Dwight, Jameer, and Rashard… so no pressure. Rasheed is 35 years old and is a shadow of his under-achieving self. The Spurs added a 29 year old RJ, who is right in his prime, a good fit, but not the shooter that the Spurs need. Cleveland added a 37 year old Shaq, previously discussed. And the Lakers added a 29 year old Ron Artest, who is the wild card in all of this mess. I like all the pick ups with the exception of Vincanity. RJ is the safest pickup. Solid defensively, a nice guy, soft, Spurs-like player. Should fit in well. Artest has the most upside. Gives the Lakers front court toughness, another scorer, takes the defensive pressure off Kobe, allowing him to gamble in the passing lanes more (not necessarily a good thing), but might be create chemistry issues. Artest will need a few more shots than Ariza did, and with Bynum's return, he will need a few shots. The key is can Kobe sacrifice a few shots and drop his average to 24-25 ppg to accommodate his teammates. We'll see if Phil can use his Zen Jedi mind tricks to get everyone to buy in.

Is Portland ready to make the leap?
My guess says no. Bill Simmons doesn’t think that Andre Miller is a good fit. I'm not sure I agree with him. Miller does like the ball, but I think his game can adjust to the talent that he is surrounded with. The real key is Oden. He has looked good in the pre-season and if he stays healthy, then they are dangerous. I'm not sold on Aldridge either. I like my power forwards to dominate the glass… Aldridge thinks he's a small forward. Plus, I’m not sure that Brandon Roy hasn’t already peaked. He’s nice, don’t get me wrong, but I think we are close to his ceiling.

This rookie class is not getting a lot of hype... Anyone for real?
The best player in the draft is playing in Barcelona. Yes, Rubio would have emerged as the best player in this draft in 4 years. He still may… Does a couple of seasons overseas help him? We'll see. Griffin is the truth… a beast, an athlete, good motor; unfortunately he's just stuck in Clipperland. And like most Clipper draft picks (Manning (knee), Harper (knee), Kandi-man (heart))… he’s already injured. Poor kid. Other rookies I like… Jonny Flynn in Minnesota… and the steal of the draft is probably Dujuan Blair for the damn Spurs. Questions about his knees made him a 2nd round pick, but he is a beast and the Spurs once again prove that their front office knows what they are doing.

What player will have the breakout seasons in 2009/10?
Kevin Durant is going to explode this season. Stuck in Oklahoma City unfortunately, but the talented scorer will put up huge numbers this year. Look for him to take the best SF in the league spot away from Melo this season and he will challenge ‘Bron for league scoring leader in 2009/10. He could carry his team to the playoffs with some luck. Also looking forward to year 2 of the Derrick Rose era. Rose is special.

Who are this year's award winners?
RoY: Griffin, though he’s missing 6 weeks. Jonny Flynn perhaps.
CoY: Rick Carlyle… Yeah I said it.
DPoY: Dwight Howard
6th Man: Manu (unfortunately, he’s back)
MVP: Lebron… it's his league. Maybe CP58.

Who will make the playoffs?
West:
1. Lakers (68 wins is possible)
2. Spurs (damn, they are back)
3. Dallas (my sleeper)
4. Nuggets (I think Chauncey has one more run in him, before handing it to Ty Lawson)
5. Utah (Deron Williams is the truth)
6. Portland (not the leap that they were hoping for)
7. New Orleans (CP58 has something to prove… maybe by not having your team lose playoff games by 58)
8. Oklahoma City (I believe in Durant)

East:
1. Boston (Big 3 plus Sheed)
2. Cleveland (underrated pickup is Leon Powe)
3. Orlando (Vince doesn’t have the pressure with Dwight, Jameer and Rashard)
4. Chicago (Rose raises his game)
5. ATL (too much talent here)
6. Washington (Agent 0 has something to prove)
7. Miami (DWade can’t wait to join Rose in Chicago)
8. Toronto (Hedo, Bosh, Calderon, Bargnani… there is something here)

First to 5? Duncan, Shaq, or Kobe? Or does Boston win #19.
We know if comes down to these 4 in the conference finals… unless Orlando crashes the party, which I doubt. I have the Lakers over the Spurs in 6 and the Celtics over the Cavs in 7. Which gives me the rematch that every Laker fan and Kobe himself have been waiting for. Lakers vs. Celtics baby!!! This is where the addition of Ron artest pays off. He’ll make life miserable for Paul “The Wheelchair” Pierce. Jesus is just about done and I think the Lakers big men Lamar/Gasol/Bynum will be too much for KG/Rasheed/ Perkins. Plus Phil Jackson will outcoach Doc in critical moments. Too much firepower in purple and gold… Lakers in 6. Back to Back!!!!

Any predictions for the summer of Lebron?
Lebron stays put… though the Clippers would be sick with him. Dwade to Chicago. Bosh to the Knicks as a consolation prize. Joe Johnson to Miami to replace DWade. Amare to Golden State finally. And my huge call of the year… Rajon Rondo to the Blazers! Just what a young Portland squad needs.

How long did this take?
Time stands still when talking about the NBA… enjoy the ride my friends.
