Rashad Evans & Rampage Exchanging Verbal Blows (audio)

Capitalism, then Socialism, then ...?

Here is an interesting post I wanted to get your take on:

http://momento24.com/en/2010/05/09/lula-da-silva-before-being-a-socialist-you-have-to-be-a-capitalist/

Lula da Silva: “Before being a socialist, you have to be a capitalist”
Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, in an interview with Spanish newspaper El Pais, mused about various aspects before leaving office next December.
After eight years in office, Lula said: “A head of state is not a person, an institution, (…) he has to carry out the agreements that are possible. I’ve learned that in power and I think has been good for Brazil. “
He further expressed that it is unacceptable that a president has a certain inclination with others with their own ideological bent: “I get along with Aznar and Zapatero, I have to relate to Pinera in Chile like I did with Bachelet. The exercise of power, I am a citizen, how can I say…? Multinational, multi-ideological, right? “.
He described the situation when he was elected Brazilian president: “The country had no credit, had no working capital or financing or income distribution. What kind of capitalism was that? A capitalism without capital. I decided then that it was necessary to first build capitalism, then make socialism, we must have something to distribute before doing so. “
In this vein, the president added that “if the country does not have anything, there is nothing to distribute, and employers need to know that they have to pay slightly higher wages so that people can buy the products they manufacture. Henry Ford already has said this in 1912. “

Why the Kardashian? and where did the Kardashian's money come from?

I have been struggling to understand the new pop-culture celebrity worship and its monetization . I would say in previous eras of celebrity worship people would give their adoration to someone because of exceptional skill (aka talent) and at the same time they admired someone because he\she gave a perception of talent, all celebrities probably used a little of both but exceptional skill seems easier to monetize than perception.

As an example James Dean had a really short career but really wasn't a great actor ( others seems to think the same thing) but the population brought into the idea that this guy was a great actor etc. after he died and apparently the perception is valuable.

However, this new era of celebrity worship seems to frequently give adoration to folks that uses the perception of exceptional skill alone.

With all that said, there is the Kardashian family, maybe Kim's tape is an exceptional talent, or is it Ray J that showed its exceptional talent (nod to RayJ).

The money: Now maybe it is my own limited understanding of the role of money and its ability to point to the truth but I think most would agree or have heard of the term "follow the money" and there are biblical references on the true intention of a man can be identified by where he places his money.

Not a perfect science but if I were to work this money = truth idea then I should be able to find the true exceptional talent of the Kardashaian family because people would be will to pay for exceptional talent.

Where are these people getting money, I am guessing that the TV channel pays them but I cannot see them getting the kind of money they seemly have or at least it cannot be the original source.

Google told me Daddy Kardashian AKA OJ's boy, was a lawyer but probably made real money when he started Movie Tunes Inc., Movie Tunes Inc. sells, the time you spend waiting for movie previews to start, to vendors to run more commercials or play music. Apparently we spend 20 minutes on average waiting on a movie to start and that time is valuable because folks are paying for that time. Movie Tunes Inc may have been purchased by Sony Music.

Google told me Kim divorced some black dude (yeah i get the madd rapper award because I am not getting out of $300k car)

anyway Kim's ex started Underdog entertainment now Underdog Entertainment bread must be long because these dudes are involved in crazy hits.

So now my nosey self knows where mom kardashian and kim got the cash, and all this celebrity tv show stuff may just be noise, but its not cause Kim pulling in $75000 per episode.

Hooters Girl Weighs Too Much?

You all should be able to guess where I stand on this. Girl you work at Hooters! The food is nasty, why do people go? To look at the girls, it's not TGI Friday's or Denny's or someplace like that. I don't like Hooters but I understand why some people do.

She is 5'8" and 132 lbs, and she isn't wearing it well enough to wear a Hooters uniform. They offered her a free gym membership and 30 days to improve which is nice if you ask me. Ironically the assistant manager is an overweight man, but no one is looking at him at Hooters.

Bias in Children

They didn't say where they are from, but it sounds like the South from her accent. I like studies like this because it's eye opening, it's a 5 year old child whose mother has no idea where the biases are coming from.

Interesting that this child, who is Black, states teachers don't care what students look like.
