Sick lacrosse player

Shamel Bratton is a sick lacrosse player at UVA, only a sohphomore. And he has a twin brother that is also on the team. Both were recruited by every major program including Penn State to play both lacrosse and football. I couldn't find any of their mixtapes, they played football, basketball and lacrosse in high school. If you aren't busy this weekend UVA is playing on Saturday and on Monday if they win....

Do black people have those fall from grace come back stories???

Every now and then we run into those American stories where some big star falls from grace then turn there life around only for America to fall back in love when them.

Mickey Rourke: Scandal: public meltdown, mental institution stint, rehab stints, custody battle ==> Sin City, The Wrestler, Iron Man 2

Hugh Grant, who was caught with a prostitute of his own in 1995, ==> a bunch of cute love drama with J-Lo

Russell Crowe's 2005 phone-wielding altercation has caused any real long-term career fallout ==> Body of Lies (2008) -- American Gangster (2007) -- 3:10 to Yuma (2007) # A Good Year (2006)

Eddie Murphy's late 1990s incident involving a transvestite prostitute ==> came back as the king of family comedy. Then again according to this documentary on black people in hollywood, Eddie is no longer black he is not white so some how the black rules and anchors don't apply, kind of like Michael Jackson: he is classified under the race of Michael Jackson.

OJ Simpson accused killer ==> he didn't make it back

Kobe Bryant accused rape, sodomy ==> he is back in the NBA but he doesn't seem to be the darling of the media as everyone expected with more money from endorsements like MJ23 had, plus Lebron came on the scene and it seems as though the media is willing to throw money behind him, just look at his commercials, its not clear what they're selling (chalk for throwing purposes), but we still watch.

Michael Vick

Are going to see Michael give one of those post victory speeches or interviews where he contrast his lows with his come back story and will America fall back in love with him? Does he have the come back ability (if its real in the first place)? or Will the media give him another chance and put the come back strategist behind him so that they can an accuse to play that "One shining moment"( I swear the look for any little chance to play that song and get me teary eyed) song to the tune of Michael V. crying (in super slow mo) after winning the championship

OR

Are we going to see some kind of weird "OJ Like" strategy to make money by coming out with the book "If I did kill the DOG this is how I would do it?"

NBA Final 4

Thoughts after both game 1's???

Lakers vs. Nuggets: I want to see how the Nuggets respond after a tough loss. What are they made of? George Karl looked like he was about to cry during the press conference post game. I think we saw the coaching difference between Phil Jackson and George Karl. Phil made all the right moves down the stretch (Long-armed Lamar on the inbounds pass, fouling late to avoid any hero 3 pointers) and George didn't (little man Carter inbounding the ball, Carter guarding Kobe for most of the game). Game 2 will be big. Does Melo have another 39 point game in him? I got the Lakers in 5. Yes, I know I'm biased.

Lebrons vs. Magic: THE RUSSIAN'S CUT!!!! Yes, the Cavs can lose at home. We'll see how much swagger they show in game 2. Is Lebron being too unselfish down the stretch? Also, can a backboard be built that can survive Dwight's nasty power dunks? I think this slap in the face will be a good thing for the Lebrons. Maybe it wakes them up a little bit. The one thing we are seeing is that Orlando is the most talented team in the East. They get it from Dwight, from Hedo, and from Rashard (huge down the stretch). Imagine if they still had Jameer. Cleveland can only really count on Lebron, which is great, but is it enough??? Time will tell. I got the Lebrons in 7, only because Stern wants to see Lebron v. Kobe.

Derek Fischer stalker.....

This woman is crazy
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=4175737

LOS ANGELES -- Los Angeles Lakers guard Derek Fisher has won an extended restraining order against a woman he says stalked and harassed him.

A Los Angeles judge on Monday granted a three-year extension of an order issued last month against Symone Fisher. The 40-year-old woman is barred from contact with Fisher or his family until May 2012.

In court papers, Derek Fisher claimed the woman -- who legally changed her last name to Fisher -- began harassing him in 2001 by sending letters and e-mails suggesting they were married. More recently, he says she showed up near his home.

Neither Fisher nor the woman appeared in court.

I wonder how it is that people grow up to be this crazy?

What to do about the "War on Drugs"

http://www.cnn.com/2009/CRIME/05/19/phoenix.drug.kidnappings/index.html

The media is putting a lot of emphasis on the Violence in Mexico caused by the drug cartels and how it is spilling over to this side of the border. The only opinion being offered that digresses from the obviously ineffective agenda of the "War on Drugs" is to legalize drugs. Now I am not one to give up or give in when I think a different strategy will work. Obviously trying our best to emulate the 2000 Baltimore Raves (trying to guard the border) is not working. My thinking is take the cartels out. Yes Mexico is a "sovereign" nation, but in reality Northern Mexico is the 4th country in mainland North America. The Mexican government doesn't run shit there. The Cartels control everything and everyone. We invaded Iraq on the false pretense of WMDs and the Bush Doctrine which stated we have the right to preempt an attack on the United States. I don't think anyone would dispute that the cartels are a major threat to the United States and Mexico. From that standpoint I would use the military to take out the cartels and shut down the border. I don't care who has a problem with it. If the trillion dollar military of the United States can't take out 5 cartels worth about $10 billion that is a problem. These are not jihadist hell bent on destroying America, that would actually be counterproductive to their profits.

The popular opinion is to legalize drugs. Now I didn't take this seriously until I saw the figure of $8 billion, that's the revenue the Mexican cartels generated from marijuana alone. That's a lot of money for a medicinal drug, and after weighing the revenue versus the cost of prohibiting it and violence generated by the trade I am open to marijuana being legalized and regulated. How I don't know, that's a think tank question, I'm finance I run numbers. But that's where I draw the line, meth, cocaine and heroine can't be legalized.

Bill Maher definitely on board for making wee legal as are many.
Can Barack Obama legalize marijuana and get reelected?
Is $8B really that much money to the US government?
What are the cartels going to do if there is no black market for weed?

is jerry west a traitor?

no...not really but we have to take his comments seriously as one fo the greatest players, greatest GMs and greatest scouts of talent....

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=4178437
