i am all for athletes getting their money.....pro sports seems to be the only industry where you are really compensated yearly based on inflation rate consistently (and sometimes more).....we the people (consumer) make this possible....but c'mon roddy white does not deserve fitzgerald consideration (i understand when you are negotiating you shoot for the ceiling and hope to get something close to that)......is roddy white a top ten wr in this league (i know some folks who will remain nameless will draft him 3rd round this yr but i think the rest of us feel he is a 8th round wr).....i feel bad for douglas, falcons 3rd string wr may be out for the yr, (hope he can rebound) but maybe roddy can use this tragedy as leverage to get what he wants (its a business).....and if so he should think about giving douglas a "disability pension payment or two."

callers are tripping....people get so weird when it comes children nowadays. removing dodgeball from schools, carseats, second hand smoke, organic soy milk, no TV)---alot of these things i agree with are progressive to raise children (and some are coo coo) but the way in which people pass judgement quickly on parents is wild to me....i find it weird that the successful people writing books with advanced psychology degrees say spanking is wrong....

the problem with that is that in most cases it worked for them as children as most of these people were spank and are indeed "on paper" successful. basically the data suggests the complete opposite if you ask me (the moral fiber of the folks of old vs folks of today)....but now to make a few bucks and get some notoriety (in today's society where you Can argue its needed now more than ever).

Pay Eli $97M over 6 years?

Okay I know we have discussed this before but this is still crazy to me. Eli Manning is the highest paid player in the NFL. I know Trey, it's about timing and getting yours when it's your time. But this is Eli Manning. Am I the only person that saw Bad Eli show up in every game after Plaxico Burress shot himself? Does Jerry Reese really think Eli can get the Giants back to the Superbowl?

I understand QB is the hardest position to fill, but Eli had one good streak that happened to coincide with the playoffs and that wouldn't have happened without his 6'5" security blanket.

Does Anyone Not Believe In Single Payer Healthcare?

Okay so I have two questions:

1. Do any of you disagree with single payer healthcare?

2. Do any of you think there shouldn't be a public option for health insurance?

I'm just wondering because I can't believe people are this fucking stupid. Sorry if you answered yes to either of those questions.... kind of.

I don't understand how most people in this country don't understand that they are in danger of being dropped by their insurance company if they get sick. We work for Intel so we are in a good situation. But the vast majority of people in the country are fucked if they get any sort of major illness

Furthermore people keep bullshitting and telling the public that healthcare reform will kill small business. When in actuality small businesses are currently screwed because they can't afford to cover their employees. Innovation has been stifled because people are less inclined to start their own business because they can't afford individual health insurance. It's amazing that we as Americans spend twice as much as any other country on healthcare and we are ranked 30th in healthcare among industrialized nations. That's like the Yankees paying all that money and not even making the playoffs, except people die because health insurance companies have less of a moral compass than contract killers.

Where is the passion in the new Slaughterhouse Album?

Downloaded it over the weekend, was kinda geeked about the whole idea of 4 guys who can rap their tail off just ripping the mic over some hardbody beats. Quoting Phonte from Little Brother, "Dope beats, dope rhymes, what more do y'all want."

However, something's missing. There's no fire, no passion? The beats are str8, they rapped hard, but i just don't feel like anything grabs me and forces my attention. Am i just trippin'? Does this mean i'm losing some appreciation for the artform? An I wrong to expect the passion from Joe Buddens, Crooked I, Royce, and Joell Ortiz that I hear in a young Inspecta Deck, etc...

I hope I'm buggin, or this album just isn't that good. I'd hate to think i'm becoming one of those folks who can't listen to new rap music cuz i'm stuck in a 90s Jansport state of mind (not that there's anything wrong with that...)

in a day and age where it seems alot of times that academics and college sports are mutually exclusive it is cool to see that the champions (not just some poor football program) are actually matriculating students....you have some once-were-good football programs whining that academic standards are the reason they can't compete and you have other schools getting in trouble forgiving academics standards----and then there is florida (knock on wood)......

nevertheless i think he should be commended for the program he is running and also i think this is a big reason he is able to compete because these guys don't want to leave school (so quickly) for the fame and money in the NFL.

on another note, give these guys a reasonable stipend:
