i had a question for ya'll similar to emeka's?

who wins in a basketball tournament (first to lose 2 is out):

with everyone in their prime by decade (kinda difficult to separate guys out but i will try---i tried to put the guys in the decade in which they were at the height of their careers)

(1) designates starter...ace stated team millenia would win but i just named starters in that case..does this change your opinion

team 80s:

(1) Magic, isiah, gervin, (1) glide, dr J, (1) larry bird, (1) mchale, james worthy, moses, (1) kareem
i am struggling with a back up to mchale so i will go with another small

team 90s:
(1) stockton, gary payton, reggie, (1) jordan, (1) scottie, mullin, (1) barkley, malone, (1) dream, ewing

team millenia:
(1) kidd, CP3 (sorry ace), wade or AI (who makes the cut), (1) kobe, (1) lebron, melo or pierce (who makes the cut), (1) duncan, garnett, yao, (1) shaq

i can't decide....i am partial towards the 80s team....too much clutchness

The Lakers & Rockets Get Physical

So I'm sure most of us saw the Lakers game live last night, that is real playoffs basketball. In my biased opinion I don't think anyone should get suspended (Kobe for the elbow or Fischer). I also don't think Fischer or Artest should have been tossed out of the game.

Scolia had that hit coming, he had been playing like a punk and tried to get in Odom's face earlier that quarter. He shouldn't have been lazy and set a screen with his ass hanging high in the air. If he had lowered his center of gravity like you're supposed to he would have been fine. Now this was a pre-meditated lacrosse hit by Fischer who probably realized Scolia sets lazy picks. I have no problem with it, would have called it a personal foul and told Scolia to stay on his feet. I could have dealt with a flagrant 1, but maybe because it was called a 2 he won't get suspended.

What I don't like is how close the refs decided to call the game after Ron Artest got ejected. Almost all contact became a foul. The Lakers were in the penalty in the 4th within 4 minutes or less. Kobe got a tech for telling Battier he couldn't guard him after he drained a 20 footer in his face.

Opps Upside yo head

bret farve? to play or not to play

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4142857

honestly i have no issues with someone being indecisive (this happens with everyone with retirement for the most part).....

but he put off bicep surgery and he is at the point where to me it seems like he doesn't like the preparation part anymore at ALL....i just don't know if you can play pro sports with "distaste" for workouts and practice....this is fine if you want to have a middle of the road career but if you want to play at the HOF level at an older age you have to tough it out thru the hard part.....he said this i believe previously..."i like playing, i don't like monday thru saturday". this is rough for his teammates (see roger clemens coming back to the yankees for the games he pitched only and k rhodes and t jones last year with bret) and since he is old he needs work harder to be in game shape....

what about tavarvis jackson?

2001 MacDonald's all american....David Lee

do you guys remember and angel and ace trying to pretend like biedrins is just as athletic as david lee...."biedrins could have won the dunk contest at 17-18 too". i don't think so....not sure if biedrins can do these dunks now (but definitely not as a teen).

some notables in this one:
T.J Ford, Jawad Williams (he is the fifth starter on the UNC championship team with marvin williams, mccants, felton, may), Julius Hodge (Trevor's boy...he got shot while playing with the sonics but its been a struggle for him to play at that level now), and James White (went to UF but could not get along with donovan and transferred to Cincy; he now plays with the spurs reuniting with matt bonner)
