58????

Your New Orleans Hornets, down 2-1, in a must win game at HOME, led by all-world point guard, CP3, regarded by some as the 3rd greatest point guard of all time (clearly Trey, Chase and Emeka are smoking crack), go out and lose by 58 points (121-63) to the Denver Nuggets. Not the Dream Team... not the Lakers or Cavs... but the lowly Denver Nuggets. That ties for the biggest loss in playoff history and is the biggest playoff loss in history at HOME. Wouldn't UNC put up a better fight than this?

FYI, your boy CP3 had 4 points and 6 turnovers in 36 minutes of "play". Oh and he is also responsible for getting Byron Scott fired this offseason. Yes, that is happening after this embarassment. I think it is clear that CP3 is just another good player out there. I'd rather take Chauncey at this point.

58????????????? I'm still tripping... 58?!?!?!?!?! At Home????? I mean getting beat by 30 is an ass-whoping... now double that. Crazy!!!!!

  1. When did I agree with CP3 is the 3rd greatest PG of all time? That is not accurate.

Now the 58 point beat down that the Hornets allowed at home in the playoffs is inexcusable. Byron Scott and CP3 should have been choking somebody on the bench. If I were Byron Scott I would have gotten tecs for walking on the court and cursing my own players out. At least that way I get to head to the locker room while they continue to embarrass themselves.

  2. they gave up early, what happened to pride?

  3. I think we now have to reevaluate where CP58 ranks among active point guards... and please stop with putting him on any all-time lists.

  4. Again, jacked from John Hollinger's comment:

In fairness to the Hornets, I should point out that they have been dealing with some physical ailments. Paul (knee), West (back), Chandler (ankle), Stojakovic (ankle) and Posey (knee and shoulder) all were playing with injuries of one kind or another. That doesn't excuse their effort, but it does help explain why they've seemed so overmatched.

There's no shame in them losing to Den. That's the only team in the west that scares me as a lake show fan.

  5. I understand the ailments, but they still quit.... Now I didn't watch the game but if I had I would lay out how bad the estrogen imbalance was player by player....

You know what it's disrespectful to even say they are estrogen imbalanced. THEY PLAYED LIKE A BUNCH OF BITCHES WITH NO HEART. Manny Ramirez, Stephon Maurbury and Randy Moss think they slacked off last night!

  6. 58 POINTS? How the fuck do you lose a playoff game by 58 points? Seriously, how is that possible? Jordan should immediately drop CP3 from his endorsement contract for that bullshit. This is worst than the Cowboys getting their asses kicked by the Eagles in the last game of the season to decide who makes it to the playoffs....

  7. ya'll are retarded...heard this on mike and mike yesterday..."play sports enough and you will be embarassed"...everyone has a bad game...in team sports you can only do so much if your team is hurt and/or quit...jordan has been a part of a blow out....there have been HOFers held to single digit scoring...it happens...stop overreacting...warren moon was a part of the biggest comeback in NFL playoff history...does he suck (well he did until he played again the next year---please)...did that stop him from being a HOFer...no...how many times were elway, kelly and marino blown out in the super bowl (ooooh not in the super bowl my god how can this be on the biggest stage). stop being so short sighted....billups was done with the pistons now in a better situation he is better than paul...you are crazy...denver would trade paul for billups straight up RIGHT NOW (maybe throw in JR smith too)...for some reason i keep having to correct ace on this....THE RANKING I MADE WAS POINT GUARDS I HAD SEEN. to me he is better (eye test sort of like kobe and lebron...these are eye test because the guys are playing now) than stockton, price, KJ, Ayson kidd (no J), the hardaways, etc....i only have magic and isiah better than him going back to about 87 when i started watching basketball...i did not see the big o, walt, cousy, wilkens because guess what i am sure they were a part of a blow out too. and for the record if you told denver to go out and see how much you can beat UNC by, they would beat them 182-31....it would be like dream team 1....they only have 1 guy that is NBA ready....another thing this is series so technically you can win a 1000-0 and LOSE so let's see what happens...i think the hornets get beat....they have NO WINGS....posey pulled a ben wallace fooling everyone (i knew he was going to do this but i think ppl wanted him to be the new robert horry or something), peja is old was never really that skilled in the first and D forget about it, mo pete is old, oh yeah rasoul butler c'mon....this is also bad match up for them...their strength in paul and west...billups ain't a bum and west's quickness at the 4 in nullified by martin (who can be seen Ding up kobe in a couple of weeks) and birdman....

I'M THROUGH...look at the big picture

  8. How anyone can have CP58, a 4th year player who hasn't been past the 2nd round, ahead of GP (6th all-time assists, 3rd all-time steals, Defensive POY), Kidd (3rd all-time in assists and 3rd all-time in triple doubles), and Stockton (all-time assists and steals leader) is beyond me. Alot of folks will argue that he is not even the best PG playing right now... much less since 1987. He hasn't done anything... Am I wrong here??? Haven't Chauncey, Penny, Timmy, KJ, Price, Mark Jackson, Parker-Longoria, Bibby, etc accomplished more? I can't put a 4th year player in any type of ranking with the greats. Let me see what he does over the next 5 years. If CP58 continues to disappoint when it counts, then I have to drop him way down. If he improves and takes his team deep into the playoffs, then I'll reevaluate. For now, I can't entertain any all-time great CP58 arguments. I think DWill and Rose will be better players. CP58 is a shrimp. Hell, Rondo is playing at a higher level right now than CP58. Let's quit crowning this joker until he does something.

  9. you are missing the point...he is on pace to shatter those records...

even if he gets hit by a bus tomorrow he will still have been one of the best PG i have ever seen similar to the i regard penny and grant hill....injuries shorten their careers but they were still some of the best guys i had seen....and len bias is bum because he od'ed on crack....no ppl remember him still as a good player...

if you tell me that my team is on offense and there are 12 secs left in a game with my team down 1 i want him as my PG over everyone accept magic and isiah...you can have marathon wearing shorts daisy-dukes stockton, fat ass getting dunked on by chambers mark jackson, wannabe wayne palmer gary payton, 8-sec violation default to milsap when the game is on the line deron williams, never hit a big shot on someone ayson kidd (dude is always open)....i am taking chris paul...he will get to the line or set up an alley or hit a jumper at the elbow (he gets wear he wants)....i know my team will get a good shot in the situation and not utah's price going baseline looking for fouls against lamar odom (ughhh that would be deron williams). what do have against short people...i like AI, i like barkley, hell i like zeek...

now if i want a rebound i go ayson kidd or rondo...if i want a 3 pointer i go price/stockton...if i want post i go payton or jackson but paul can do everything....lead face breaks, run flawless pick and roll, hit jumpers (regardles of what you say), get to teh line, get me a steal, take his man one-on-one or dribble around or split the double team (thsi he does better than anyone on this list including magic....

  10. Who do I want on offense with 12 secs left is a much different question than who is the best PG I've seen. Totally different questions.

    ReplyDelete
  11. i don't think so....they should not be vastly different...

for SG the answer is the same...i want jordan
for SF the answer is the same...i want bird
for PF tne answer is the same...i want barkley
for C the answer is the same...i want kareem
    for PG ...i want magic

remember these are the guys i have seen...

i can make a second team, isiah, kobe, pippen, malone, olajuwon and for both on my 3rd team i want these guys: paul, reggie, lebron, duncan, shaq....

  12. based on some short sightedness here are your list of quitters and bums

    elway
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Bowl_XXIV

    ozzie the wizard smith
he got beat in the world series 11-0
i always thought he was the best glove i had ever seen....oh well guess he is a bum

    patrick roy
    http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/hockey/2002/playoffs/news/2002/05/31/avalanche_wings_ap/
i thought patrick roy (melrose says he is the best or second best ever) was the best goal keeper i have ever seen but he allowed 6 goals in game 7....

    ronaldo
he was beaten in the 1998 world cup final 3-0

there you have the biggest quitters in the game according to short sighted viewers....

but i am sure ace has an excuse as to why his logic only applies in basketball and not any other sport....

  13. Couple of points:
1st: You can't compare a player in his 4th year to the greats, but that completely disregards how well CP3 has BALLED these past 4 years. He should have won the MVP last year, quite simply he had a better year than Kobe and they were the #2 team in the West.

2nd: You talk about how you think Rose is going to be better than CP3, HE'S ONLY PLAYED 1 YEAR. You're doing the same exact thing you're lambasting us for comparing CP3 at this point in his career against Magic.

As a side note, heard this statement from a breezy yesterday: "CP3 is too little to carry a team, that boy needs some help"

  14. Your boy Bill Simmons has been talking all year about how New Orleans looks like a team that hates their coach, and would seem ready to quit on him. Well, looks like they'll get their wish. There is no way you can bring a coach back after getting a 58 point butt whipping dropped on you @ home.
