Week 7 Recap

There will be no fantasy recaps unless something ridiculous happens...

The Vikings ran out of luck as they lost to the Steelers. Although they really weren't unlucky they just couldn't beat a team playing bad. Favre got stripped and the ball was returned 70+ yards for a TD. Then Favre through a ball high to a backup running back and the tip was returned 80+ yards for a TD. On both plays Favre made no real intent to even get in the way of the return. The Steelers don't look like defending champs, espeicially not on offense. Big Ben looks like a bum.

The Saints put up the comeback of the season to beat the Dolphins. Hilarious, "Angel did you really think the Dolphins were going to win?" The Saints got their offense going in the second half and it was a beat down when it was all said and done.

The Cowboys should be starting Miles Austin and Patrick Crayton (I think I said this a week or 2 ago) because Roy E Williams is a bust who should be referred to as a 1st, 3rd, 6th and $49M. Ridiculous. How are the Cowboys going to hang on to this guy? They just signed DeMarcus for 6 more years @ $78M, $40M garunteed. Oh the Cowboys beat the faultering Falcons on Sunday. I can't say I was really impressed by anyone other than Miles Austin. Although Romo didn't turn the ball over.

The 49ers almost camback from 21-0 to beat the Texans but fell short 24-21. Vernon Davis had 3 TDs, however Michael Crabtree was clearly ready to play as his 5 receptions are more than Darius Hayward-Bey has had all season. Alex Smith won his starting job back. What is wrong with the Texans? I know they won and Andre Johnson suffered bruised ribs but why are they so inconsistent?

The Cardinals beat a Giants team that looked off all night. Eli had 1 TD and 3 INTs. The Cardinals actually ran the ball for a change. I think what we learned from this game is that the Cardinals can be good, but are still inconsistent and the Giants aren't that good.

Did anyone see what happened in the Bengals v Bears game? The Bengals at 5-2 are leading their division... How far can they go? The Bills were 4-1 last year and ended 7-9. I don't think they'll collapse like that but I want to see how they do.

I'm still not on the Denver Broncos bandwagon. Are they the Rams of 1999? Come out of no where and just start winning... They play Baltimore this week. I think this is a tipping point game. Baltimore wins they get back on track, if they lose their season is probably over. If the Broncos win in Baltimore (no missed FG at the end, or ridiculously horrible play) I may take them seriously.

Beat Downs:
Colts over Rams
Patriots over Bucs
Bengals over Bears
Chargers over Chiefs
Jets over Raiders
Packers over Browns

Someone on ESPN commented on the lack of parity in the NFL this year. There are 11 teams with 2 wins or less.

The Browns may be sitting Brady Quinn to avoid paying him an $11M bonus... He gets it if he plays 70% of the teams snaps.
