I always thought dude should have played football instead of basketball

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=4070344

if you look at his high school film he was better at football, but i think he saw the dollar signs and long term health implications of football and decided coach k can get me in the nba.....baskteball is always a safer long term choice if you are good enough. so i can't fault him....

i wonder why he didn't go to a school he could play both like UNC (see peppers and curry).

anyway can he do it? can he play college QB somewhere and impress people enough to get a shot at the nfl the following year....or should he switch to WR (at duke)....

i think his best shot would be to try to relearn and play QB (maybe shock the world at northern iowa or something after one year)....he will not be a standout WR anywhere (by standout i mean get a shot at the nfl....he is no crabtree)

i find this interesting...it really puts how rare deion, bo, even gonzalez, peppers, curry and gates are....

  1. how is he still eligble? does he have to wait a year for the transfer? i saw that he also worked out for the packers while up in the midwest. maybe the UM is to prove to nfl teams that he's still got it?

  3. yeah i never understood why he chose basketball...i always knew that he was hurley at best and in football he could have been jimmy clausen, eric ainge, or chris simms....at least a shot at the NFL....but then again if you are all american in both from a salary and health standpoint you would choose hoops if your are smart...wish he would have played both...maybe he's thinking that too
