This reiterates my points that rookie contracts are ridiculous and guaranteed contracts have ruined the NBA.

  1. what do you suggest? all incentive based contracts with caps on rookie salaries....

    basically you criticized the best part of contracts in both sports from the players viewpoint....

    high rookies salaries is what keeps vets getting paid in the long run in football... and in the nba they have "caps" on rookie salaries but guaranteed.... you can't take both away... that leaves players getting the shaft...

  2. Honestly, if I had my way I would modify what the NFL has now. No guaranteed contracts but continue with signing bonuses, I would get rid of franchise player tags and 5 years of playing before free agency. Drop that to 3 years. I think that would actually be great.
