I had to review this clip twice to understand what Louie was talking about but in effect I agree with all of what he says.
I've been aware of Tavis's severe criticism of Obama and how Tavis feels Obama is not addressing black folk issues as the first African American president of US. And as you summed it up to airing dirty laundry outside the family; I believe whenever airing anyone's laundry out is never a good thing EVER!! I mean for all intensive purposes I think his criticism and lack of support feeds more fuel to people who off the bat want to see Obama fail. It is counterintuitive to any of his (Tavis) ideas if in case he wants Obama to consider. When you're in a position of power and ability to have a direct impact on people's life you can't allow yourself to redo another G.W. Bush; essentially be in office for the benefit of rich white folks. So Tavis needs to sit his ash down and say something positive...
You know i think i may have misinterpreted what you meant by airing out dirty laundry. I assume you mean discussing issues affecting black folk and is it appropriate to discuss this in a public forum like CSPAN, right?
Well, would you suggest another alternative, like in church. I think it would interesting and could do some good for those who chose to watch The Black Agenda on CSPAN. But we talk about the Black Agenda as you said every year and little has changed. So maybe after all people are no longer interested.
