  1. Thanks Emeka, I have my core family (grandmother, uncles, aunts, cousins) still living in Haiti and we have been trying to contact them and still have not been able to reach. Whatever you have to donate whether it be monetary contributions or clothing or even spreading the message to help Haiti is very much appreciated. I am hoping for the well being & safety of all men, women and child!!!

  3. Also hate to make light of this, but I realized we really "have us a black president y'all" when I saw the Obama address this morning saying that we as a country are completely throwing our support behind the recovery in Haiti.

  4. Yes, my sincere condolences go out to everyone affected by the Haiti quakes. My prayers go out to all.
I made the phone donation, but before I made the other donation on the unicef page, I saw that Intel is matching donations. So I thought that was a better way to go about it, since it will double the amount. Check it out on circuit ya'all (I don't think I can include the link here so for those with no access to circuit, I cut&pasted the artice below, but some links might not work...

Intel will match employee donations for Haiti quake aid
    Posted Jan. 13, 2010

In the wake of the 7.0 earthquake that has severely damaged Haiti and is causing widespread suffering and loss of life, the Intel Foundation is offering an employee matching program to assist with the relief efforts.

All documentation of personal donations must be received by the foundation by February 12. Gifts will be matched up to $2,000 per employee. To donate:

    1. Choose your agency and make your donation as follows:

U.S. blue-badge employees: Make personal donations to American Red Cross, Mercy Corps, World Vision, or any other U.S.-based 501c(3) relief organization. If the organization does not have a specific program for this particular disaster, please choose the generic fund or the international fund for that organization.

Non-U.S. blue-badge employees: Make personal donations to the International Federation of Red Cross & Red Crescent Societies, your local Red Cross organization, or any other organization specifically assisting with the relief efforts with dedicated funds.

Green-badge contractors are not eligible for this program.

    2. Obtain a receipt of payment. Valid options are:

Receipt (e-receipts from online payment are encouraged)
Copy of your check (make copy before you mail it to the organization)
    3. Submit your receipt of payment by February 12, 2010. All documentation must be received by the Intel Foundation by this date electronically. Include your name and WWID on all correspondence. If the donation is in a different amount other than USD, please provide the amount in USD. E-mail your electronic receipt or a scanned copy of your check to Relief Funds. Please include one of the following words in the subject line of the receipt: "Haiti” or “earthquake”. This will ensure you receive an email acknowledgement of your donation. Do not also send a hard copy.

    4. If you have a question, please put the following words in the subject line: “Question about Haiti matching program”. This will allow questions to be answered quickly.

    5. While employees may give to the organization of their choice, the Intel Foundation will maximize the impact of its matching grant (and minimize overhead) by giving the matching funds to Mercy Corps.

Do not make checks payable to the Intel Foundation, do not send cash, and do not send original checks to the Intel Foundation. Donations must be personal donations from the employee only.

    Site collection

If you are coordinating a site collection project in which monetary collections will occur in the cafeterias or for your business unit, please contact relief.funds@intel.com immediately for the information on the process that must be followed. If a collection is completed without obtaining the process, the funds may not be able to be matched. Site collections for goods and food are discouraged. For questions on this process please contact relief.funds@intel.com.
