Darrelle Revis was robbed

Ok, Charles Woodson has just won the Defensive Player of the Year award.

This ain't right, Woodson has had a great year but it just doesn't compare to how well Darrelle Revis has BEASTED on folks all year! Let's just look at the kill list dude has this year:
- Chad Ochocinco TWICE
- Randy Moss TWICE
- Andre Johnson
- Terell Owens
- Steve Smith (Carolina)
- Marques Colston
- Roddy White

That's 9 games against top 15-20 WR were they were shut down!!!! Who else is doing this? They're trippin!

  1. woodson put points on the board (pick 6)... folks were to afraid to throw to that side so no numbers...

don't worry revis doesn't have to do a thing next yr and folks will throw him accolades out of guilt...

i would like to see revis against b marshall...

  2. None of those recievers got a TD, I remember only 1 reciever getting more than 3-4 catches and the most yards any of them got was about 60. He took away half the field, they plan defense saying that the #1 guy is murked. That hasn't been done since Champ Bailey 1st went to Denver.

  3. Woodson had a ricidulous year.
    66 solo tackles, 74 total
    2 sacks
    18 passes defensed
    9 INTs
    3 TDs
    4 FF
    1 Fumble Recovered

    Revis
    47 solo tackles, 54 total
    0 sacks
    31 passes defensed
    6 INTs
    1 TD
    0 FF
    0 Fumbles Recovered

Woodson won this by being the best all around player in the league this year. Plus I have to knock Revis down just a little bit because he doesn't really cover everybody 1:1... When he "shutout" Chad Ochocinco I saw a few highlights with the safety over the top... He is a top 3 CB hands down but I agree with Woodson winning. One of the few awards sports writers got correct. ESPN has a great quote on one of their stories "Woodson is DPOY -- not CBOY"

  5. don't talk about this weekend's games... woodson was trying to draw charging calls by flopping... it s a regular season award... this is in semi-dirk norwitzki mvp fashion...

  6. I actually agree with Chase here. Kind of like my argument for Witten being the best TE. Tight ends do more than just play receiver. Similarly, a complete corner does more than just cover people. Woodson covers well, he is good in run support, he tackles, he can slide over to safety, he can run the corner blitz, he creates turnovers... he is the TOTAL package. Much like Witten is at TE. Revis is a great cover corner, but that's about it really. So I cosign with Chase on ths one.

Where is the Shawn Knowles-Carter blog message????

  7. I guess we just see these things differently. I always felt that a cornerbacks primary job (80-90% of his responsibility to use Intelspeak) is to cover the guy in front of him, espically if y'all have a big man-2-man scheme like the Packers and Jets do. Did Woodson have more big defensive plays that created offensive points, YEAH SURE! But how do you know those plays weren't counterbalanced by the more yardage/TDs given up by Woodson while doing cornerback duties?
