i mean let's face it.. fan voting is dumb

whether it's for american idol or NBA allstar team... fans don't always know what it takes to be elite within a certain genre.... there already exist a level of bias when semi-qualified personnel vote for honors (i.e. the grammy's, college football rankings, golden globe, Heisman trophy) but when you totally dilute the expertise by saying anyone can vote the honor loses credibility...

i love the answer and t-mac but they do not deserve an allstar bid for 2009-10.

imagine if your end of the year rating (raise) at work was left up to masses of people text voting that have no clue what it takes to be good at what you do...

i understand the reasoning since fans generate dollars but will fans really not support the allstar game if there is no t-mac but instead there is tyreke evans, baron davis, montae ellis or somebody?

  1. Since the All-Star game is the 1 game I want to watch I'll chime in.

I agree that T-Mac and AI don't deserve to be there but they are 2 of the best All-Star game players of the past decade. It's the 1 game AI really plays point gaurd, T-Mac is guaranteed to try a ridiculous dunk right in the flow of the game.

I don't want to see Tim Duncan's lame ass shoot bankshots off the backboard or Manu Ginobli shoot 3's. Here is the list of players I never want to see in an All-Star game:
    Tim Duncan
    Manu Ginobli
    Paul Pierce
Shaq (for more than 2 mins so he can do a fast break)
    Yao Ming

Basically anybody who didn't grow up playing in a park where carrying and palming were perfectly legal with the exception of centers.

  2. it's an allstar game not ruckers vs and 1...

just say u want to watch the professor, go get it, escalade and the helicopter go against AI, kobe, bron and melo...

you still have to have some resemblance of an NBA game... the best allstar games are the competitive ones when the score is close at the end by some miracle. i would like to see them place some stakes on the game similar to what they do in baseball so folks will actually try the whole game. its harder in the NBA though when the rules are the same fore everyone (no DHs in one league)
