This is a great read. Regardless of your political affiliation if you want to understand more about the decision making and how things aligned to make the 2008 election the ridiculously interesting and entertaining spectacle it was.

Hillary Clinton was a mentor to Barack when he got to DC

Had Hillary won the primary Bill's infidelity would have been on display again (Yoga moms, an actress, etc.)
Obama hated being a Senator, he thought about running for Governor of Illinois
McCain's team felt guilty for almost putting Sarah Palin so close to the presidency
Chelsea Clinton convinced Hillary not to run in 2004
A McCain supporter asked for a refund and voted for Obama

WOW! I watched a dateline on this, and got some of the points you mentioned... one more I thought was funny was.. when they were prepping Sarah Palin, she kept messing up Biden's name and calling him Obiden...it was getting too close to the debates and she still kept doing it, so someone suggested she call him Joe. That's why at the begining of the debates, she said "nice to meet you, can I call you Joe?"... LOL
