NBA Final 4

Thoughts after both game 1's???

Lakers vs. Nuggets: I want to see how the Nuggets respond after a tough loss. What are they made of? George Karl looked like he was about to cry during the press conference post game. I think we saw the coaching difference between Phil Jackson and George Karl. Phil made all the right moves down the stretch (Long-armed Lamar on the inbounds pass, fouling late to avoid any hero 3 pointers) and George didn't (little man Carter inbounding the ball, Carter guarding Kobe for most of the game). Game 2 will be big. Does Melo have another 39 point game in him? I got the Lakers in 5. Yes, I know I'm biased.

Lebrons vs. Magic: THE RUSSIAN'S CUT!!!! Yes, the Cavs can lose at home. We'll see how much swagger they show in game 2. Is Lebron being too unselfish down the stretch? Also, can a backboard be built that can survive Dwight's nasty power dunks? I think this slap in the face will be a good thing for the Lebrons. Maybe it wakes them up a little bit. The one thing we are seeing is that Orlando is the most talented team in the East. They get it from Dwight, from Hedo, and from Rashard (huge down the stretch). Imagine if they still had Jameer. Cleveland can only really count on Lebron, which is great, but is it enough??? Time will tell. I got the Lebrons in 7, only because Stern wants to see Lebron v. Kobe.

  1. Stern and ESPN wants to see Cavs vs Lakers, they spent all that money on those muppet commericals ( muppets don't come cheap), while I want the Cavs to beat Orlando, I want Lebron to struggle for it but at the same time I am beginning to love Dwight all over again, shout out to Pat Ewing for mentoring that boy. Plus the Magic's front court is sick now and will probably be a major problem next year after getting this experience.

    Melo is a bear

  2. as a lakers fan, of course i want to see kobe vs. lebron. i think the better basketball matchup is Nuggs/Cavs though.

  3. I still think we will see Lerbon vs Kobe. However Lebron showed everyone why Kobe is still the best, Lebron isn't clutch. Skip called him out for driving to the basket after Howard had fouled out and then passing the ball because he is apparently afraid of being put on the line at the end of the game.

How happy did Kobe look to not see Battier and Artest guarding him? He was treating Carter like a toy in game 1. Someone on ESPN made a good point, Kobe can't continue to play the entire 4th quarter guarding Melo and carry the team offensively... or can he? I don't think that's realistic since defense takes more energy than offense.

  4. kobe don't want to guard melo...melo was beating him up under the basket....

karl totally got out coached...the ting isn't so much that phil intentionally put lamar on anthony....phil went to fundamental coaching...long guy on the inbound passer (this is not genius just coaching 101). kinda like guarding the inbounds after the laetner shot or fouling when you are up by three...it just regular after seeing what could happen. the flaw was that anthony should have never been in the game as you don't have to guard him whereas jr smith you have to guard...carter is on that defense squad yoy guys were talking about earlier (the press squad i.e, BUM). i think karl's post game attitude and numerous decisions will doom the nuggets as there confidence may be shook...that was their best attempth in staples. don't think they will get a better game out of melo, k mart, nene, bird man, and jr than that...

lebron totally let me down last night...a hr before he gave up the game, emeka and i wondered if he had surpassed kobe when in 30 secs he had to monster blocks on dwight and lewis with one followed by a fast break dunk and the other by a three....we both were like kobe can't make that play...but you know what kobe is not going to pass the ball in closing sec with (1) my man falling while i was on my way to the basket and (2) with no dwight (are you scared of "very nice"). it was like he had already decided to pass before he had ever gotten the rock....unacceptable for the "best player in the world".... this brings up a point to be addressed later...

by the way i think the lakers beat the cavs in six in the finals...the playoffs are not rigged...they were not rigged when we got magic and bird over and over again (3 HOFers facing off...magic, worthy, kareem vs bird, kevin, parrish...even dennis johnson and mcadoo) and they are not now...the best teams with the best healthy players will face off
