Week 5 Recap

Big ups to Miles Austin, I have always liked him. Having said that he dropped 3 passes so I don't want to hear that the Cowboys don't miss TO anymore. According to reports Miles Austin is still not a starter... Yeah cuz Roy Williams was ballin before he got hurt. Oh as for the rest of the Cowboys, when you need overtime to beat the Chiefs you got problems.

The Colts are still killin it. Peyton Manning is the early season MVP. If Bob Sanders can improve the D wow... It's time to play VY down in Cashville, Kerry Collins ain't gettin it done. Even if Jeff Fisher has decided VY is not it, they should at least see what his trade value is.

McNabb got back on track by playing the Bucs who pretty much suck on Defense. Josh Johnson 2nd year QB for the Bucs looks legit from what I have seen. I was one of the first ones to question benching Byron Leftwich but I can't argue now.

The Bengals are 4-1 after beating the Ravens in yet another close game. Don't look but the Bengals are on top of the AFC North. Carson Palmer is playing more consistent but still had 3 delay of game penalties. When is Chris Henry going to be a starting WR? The Ravens will be fine, Joe Flacco just had a bad game.

The Broncos are gaining legitimacy however I'm not on the bandwagon. Week 1 fluke win, beat the Browns and Raiders, a faltering Cowboys team and the Patriots who played like shit. Still they get credit for taking advantage of their circumstances.

The Falcons beat the shit out of the 49ers. Dre Bly intercepted Matt Ryan only to start doing a horrible PrimeTime impression 80 yards from the endzone and got caught and stripped of the ball.... dumbshit

Didn't see the Monday night game but damn the wildcat apparently works in Miami. The Braylen Edward's trade looks like a good idea.

  1. i have to youtube the dre bly joint....

i am starting to think the browns uniform has staph infection and "can't-catch-itis". braylon looked like lester "stick 'em" hayes for minute.

miles austin is fast. if he can catch the rock, look out. poor tackling by the chiefs was also an issue. but the cowboys look like a 8-8 team vs the division champs i thought they were (expecting eli to sink with no plax looks off based).

the colts look like super bowl champs... the nfl is salivating at its dream of a super bowl sibling rivalry matchup... i can see more puppet commercials (if that is patented by nike, there will be something else) with archie and the whole crew. if this actually happened i think the giants would come in as a 4 pt underdog but win the game especially if bob sanders in injured. i am getting ahead of myself but the colts can't stack up against jacobs and bradshaw with no sanders.

time to play VY... any gap in the play of vince and kerry if you think kerry is better can be over come by doing 6-10 wildcat plays a game with VY, lendale and chris johnson.... their 3rd down conversion percentage alone would double.

stop hating on the broncos. i know everyone including skip thought (we actually agreed with skip on something) that josh macdaniels was killing this team. the dude is undefeated and beat the patriots both a psychological struggle and a real team... this is huge. in that division they may lose 2-3 games. i am not sold on josh and won't be surprised if they go 10-6 (anything worse would be a shocker at this point), but you have to give the dude credit (especially for being able to get the best brandon marshall he can after shipping off his qb) and i guess everyone underestimated what brian dawkins would for them (the defense has made quantum leaps).

  2. Miles Austin's breakout game makes me question why the Cowboys gave up so much for Roy Williams. I understand Miles Austin has been injured in the past but wow. Now that they are overpaying Roy Williams how do they keep Miles Austin? They have to pay DeMarcus, Witten is going to be up soon too.

I don't want to see a Manning vs Eli super bowl. I would definitely be rooting for the Colts.

I gave the Broncos credit for taking advantage of their circumstances. I give more credit to Mike Nolan than Josh McDaniels. The defense is what has led this team to 5-0. Their next 3 games are against the Chargers, Ravens and Steelers

  3. I really don't want the Colts-Giants matchup, the Manning build-up would be way too much, combined with Archie Manning losing his hair from the stress of both boys playing in the same game. All in all, it would be too much.

    Thoughts from this week:
    - Denver is real, but I'm still not convinced that McDaniels is a great coach. I really wonder if Mike Nolan has just transformed the defense & that's how they're winning. Granted, that's true leadership to pick the right folks for success and then let them do their job in a controlled environment.
    - I saw this somewhere, but the Titans should trade Vince to the Browns for Brady Quinn if they're not convinced he's the guy. I actually think Brady has some skills, that organization is just so screwed that nobody can succeed there.
    - Detroit competes every week, that's better than Washington, Oakland, Carolina, St. Louis, KC...

  4. Looking forward... Who U Wit? Giants or Saints. We know Emeka has both caps, so he'll be wearing the cap of whoever is leading the game.

I'm still not sold on Eli and the Giants. Maybe that is the division rival hatred that I have. I'm also not really big on the Saints, but their D has picked up and has won games for them, even when the O has struggled. Can Thomas and Bush go of against the Giants front 7? Saints by 4.

The other big game this week is Baltimore v. Minnesota. Can Ray-Ray and company slow down Favre and All Day? Will Jered Allen treat Flacco like he treated Aaron Rodgers? I think this game is more intriguing than the Giant/Saints game. I put Minnesota a step ahead of both the Giants and Saints in the NFC. I think that All Day can be to old Favre, what Terrell Davis was to old Elway. Just the help he needs to make one last run. Vikings by 7.

Unfortunately both the above games are playing in the morning. Might have to make the trek to Chase's place... errrrr Emeka's. Tell Chase to wake up early cause I know it takes 4 hours to make breakfast.

Also don't sleep on the Sunday night game... Cutler v. Ryan.

  5. I'm going with the Saints for multiple reasons.
    1. I don't like the Giants
    2. Who have the Giants played this year?
    Redskins, Cowboys, Bucs, Chiefs, Raiders
Safe to say the Saints have been tested more
    3. Game is in New Orleans

    Ravens v. Vikings
I don't see the Ravens losing 3 straight games. If they run the ball and rest their D they will be good. I'm taking the Ravens, I'm not ready to buy in on the Vikings. Maybe we'll see Favre to Ed Reed a couple of times.

Ace if you are bringing the wife to the house please let us know so we have a heads up. My 4 hour breakfast was good so you can kiss my ass Mr I can make buffalo wings...

Sunday night game should be good, haven't really watched the Falcons this season minus the 5 minutes they were running a train on the 49ers last week.
