Week 4 Recap

Let's start with the revenge game. Brett Favre had a great game however Aaron Rodgers is still the better choice. I'm not sympathizing with Favre's annual whining, this is all about revenge. As I have previously stated if he is still playing at a high level in week 14 I might be impressed. What's up with the Packers O Line?

Jay Cutler seems like the right fit in Chicago. 48 points from the Bears? On they flip side they gave up 24 to the Lions. Stafford is hurt, but he finally got Calving Johnson the ball.

Cutler's old team is 4-0. I'm not impressed as they beat the Bengals on a fluke play and then the Raiders and Chiefs I believe. Then the big bad overrated TOless Cowboys came to town and put up 10 points, that Romo friendly offense is the shit. They now face the Patriots, Chargers and Rvens... I expect them to be 4-3. Roy Williams ended the game on the sideline, he did take a hit but it's the end of the game... He was on the injury report but adrenaline should have carried him through bruised ribs for $7M per year... Romo went 25/42 with an INT, damn he is ballin. Terrance Newman got owned by Brandon Marshall at the end of the game. Patrick Crayton did have a nice catch and dangerous punt return that was great. I ask again, what's wrong with the Romo-friendly Cowboys?

The Saints are 4-0 as rookie Mark Sanchez had his hiccup everyone knew was coming. Darren Sharper called it last week when he said he noticed something Sanchez has been doing with his eyes and then went out and had 2 picks, 1 returned for a TD. The Saints are looking dangerous as their defense is getting it done. Brees has cooled off. The Jets will be fine, they just have a rookie QB.

The Bengals pulled out another close game by beating the Browns who looked infinitely better with Derek Anderson at QB rather than Brady Quinn. Shaun Rogers blocked a FG and PAT. 8-5 had 2 TD catches and Carson played more consisttent. The Bengals are 3-1 with the next 3 against the Ravens, Texans and Bears. 2-1 would be great for them.

The Patriots benefitted from multiple phantom roughing the passer calls which continued drives on which the Patriots failed to convert 3rd downs. Marc Clayton still dropped a 4th down pass. As did Dereck Mason, funny how everyone on ESPN glosses over that.

I think it's time to play VY down in Cashville, it's not like this team is playing in February. As Trey said VY and Chris Johnson could be scary... They need to evaluate what they have so they can trade him and draft a QB or keep him and draft a lineman. The Titans play the Colts Sunday night so they will most likely be 0-5.

How am I 1-3 in fantasy football? I have the 4th highest points, now I know how Ace felt. I fully expect to beat Emeka this week.

  1. in agreement 95% of the way...

i think bret definitely wanted and enjoyed beating the pack but all in all i think bret wants to start (play) in the NFL... bret thinks he can still play and he can right now... i am with you in that when you are old week 12 looks different than week 4... nothing against bret but as ace says father time is undefeated. when you are old those knicks last longer. the biggest loser in all of this is aaron rodgers; he played well outside of throwing a pick to my boy winfield and holding the ball a little bit too long on 2 or the ~10 times he was sacked. but he but them in great positions and his coaches (not kicking the field goal was huge and to a me easy play call on teh road) and teammates (Wrs falling, TEs dropping passes, O lineman setting up jared allen with him on blind dates)let him down. grant and mason crosby (who has mastered the on-side kick to no avail) showed up though.

williams sould sue romo for the that throw.

josh macdaniels is the best coach... no i am joking but i do give him credit from learning from his mistake with jay and handling brandon with extreme care (suspending him for preseason games which some thought was dumb) in order to USE him now.

49er D get some!... they are on waivers if you need a defense but i think i got the biggest defensive outlier performance for the year (that was their best performance against the worst offensive setup in a kyle boller led ram teams this year)...

2-2 with an auto pick team... i will take that. anyone want mcfadden (commish are their cheerleading points)?
