Week 3 Recap

I called the Bengal's upset a week ago. Need proof, go to the Week 2 Recap.

Let’s get something straight. I don’t like Jake Delhomme. I think he is overrated, I don’t think he is a franchise QB. However he is a better fantasy QB than a hurt Matt Hasselbeck or Byron Leftwich who has been benched. It is not wrong for me to pick Jake Delhomme up out of the gutter and start him against the Cowboys. Through 2 weeks the Cowboys have 0 sacks and 0 INTs. When is the last time you saw the Cowboys clamp down on a defense? He plays in a division with the Saints, Bucs and Falcons. Only the Falcons have proven to have above average pass defense.

Undefeated Teams
Giants
Vikings
Saints
Jets
Ravens
Colts
Broncos

What is going on with these teams?
(1-2)
Redskins
Cardinals
Steelers
(0-3)
Titans
Dolphins

The Jets are doin it. They beat a playoff team from last year whose backs were against a wall. That says a lot about a team. The Jets probably broke the Titans will. I don’t see them recovering to make the playoffs. Not in that division.

The Cardinals have returned to form. You all (Emeka, Ace?, Trey?) it was more than just Emeka bought off on Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie. Not sure why, I told you all he was overrated, but you all didn’t want to hear it. “He started in the Super Bowl.” Anyway he got embarrassed by every Colts receiver possible on Sunday night. And one guy, Pierre Garcon, no one had ever heard of 10 days ago. Antoine Bethea did get away with a hold on Anquan Boldin in the end zone but that definitely wasn’t the difference maker. What’s going on with Fitz? I mean we are continuing the trend of when Q and Fitz are both in the game Q is the go to receiver. Just asking?

The Steelers got beat by the Bengals. Now Carson Palmer’s play was questionable at best, but of course you won’t hear about that on ESPN because he is overrated and overhyped every season. However I’m not going to call him a bum like some bitter fantasy owners who have been burnt in the past. The Steelers didn’t put the Bengals away when they had the chance and they came back to win. They could be 3-0 and be headed for the playoffs. If Carson Palmer made better throws there would have been a lot more “kiss the baby”

The Cowboys beat a pathetic looking Panthers team. Still not sure about this team though. I give them credit for winning a game they should have, but Jason Garrett made horrible play calls at the goal line. The Boys also benefitted from a horrible offensive pass interference call that erased 7 points. This call actually made a huge difference in the game. Maybe Steve Smith should have punched a teammate in training camp cuz the defense looks horrible. 3 games and DeMarcus doesn't have a sack.

The Giants have beaten 2 teams they definitely should have (Redskins, Bucs) and the Cowboys in a Romo to opposing secondary scrimmage. They play the Chiefs and then the Raiders so we won’t have any idea of how good they are until week 6 when they play the Saints. The Bucs decided to bench Byron Leftwich, now obviously something was wrong with their offense yesterday, but was it Leftwich? He played well against the Cowboys and Bills, maybe he just ran into a good defense. I don’t see how Josh Johnson gives you a better chance to win, especially since they fired their offensive coordinator after the preseason.

The Texans gave me another reason to hate Houston. After last week when I faced Schaub and Andre Johnson they put up ridiculous stats. This week when I picked them to win they lose to the Jaguars at home. They probably cost me about $125. Anyway how do you fumble when you are going into the end zone Chris Brown? MJD torched them and made Emeka happy.

The Saints beat the Bills pretty easily, but it wasn’t the bloodbath that other teams have experienced. The Bills are another team that fired their offensive coordinator after the preseason. TO was held catchless yesterday but refrained from calling anyone out.

Rodney Harrison called TO a clown for the answers he gave and said he was a selfish player. TO shot back via twitter stating Harrison was a cheater because he used steroids then asked if he needed the steroids because he could no longer get it done. Skip Bayless, the hater that he is, defended Harrison by saying it was HGH which isn’t as bad as steroids and he was coming back from an injury.

The Vikings pulled a victory out of nowhere. I have to admit Favre threw a great pass and Lewis made an even better catch. Luck was involved but I must give credit where it is due. Vernon Davis looked to have his breakout game, maybe I’ll start him sometime. Emeka swears he said Vernon Davis was finally going to breakout. Anyway as we discussed on Sunday we have no proof of this conversation, I can claim to have believed this because I actually drafted Vernon Davis…

Aaron Rodgers may have gotten on track, he threw 3 or 4 TDs against the Rams including a ridiculous bullet to Donald Driver that made Brett’s arm look like nothing.

The Broncos are 3-0, should be 2-1 but who cares they aren’t going to do anything.

The Chargers are 2-1, should be 1-2 save a horrible call that went against the Raiders. How interesting would that be? Is Shawne Merriman’s career over? The Dolphins are right on course with the Bill Parcels scheduled season 2 letdown. Chad Pennington? HAH!

What was up with those ugly neon green uniforms the Seahawks wore? What is it about the northwest? First the University of Oregon now the Seahawks? Who is Johnny Knox? Jay Cutler loves that kid.

Everybody was hyping Tebow and I don't like to knock injured players but if he can't take the hit he took on Saturday how is he suppoesed to play in the league? I know he's White Jesus and all according to most people but I don't see it.

Why does ESPN have Drew Bennett talking about football? He sits with Kordell Stewart who wasn't great but played in and won some big games for the Steelers. Drew Bennett played for 8 seasons and had a total of 307 receptions for 4,412 yards and 28 TDs... This is almost as bad as Tim Hasselbeck.

  1. first on tebow... the hit was ok... it wasn't the hit... it was the back of his head being kneed by a 300 pounder going against the hit

    pause this at 15 sec...

ace called the TO interview... it did look like rasheed's "both teams played hard my man"... ppl are way too critical of TO... he can't win for losing... he is the only person besides maybe ocho who gets questions like these... do reporters ask steve smith what he thought of the play calling and decisions... what about chris johnson, fitz, anquan, or anyone after a loss... most guys will answer the questions the same way TO does.

i drafted vernon a few times before... trust me he will sink into being forgotten for a few weeks to point you will ask yourself if he is hurt... most of this play calling and qb play but no one asks him these questions...

i have to say i questioned the bret signing but after this game he is like the only person in the league just about who can make that play... it was a crazy catch too but both players deserve equal credit for that play. i like tarvaris but in that situation he might tuck it vick-style and tried to run for 32 yds...

i don't trip about TO pointing out that rodney did HGH... see this is what i mean some players (schelreth, tiki, tom jackson) turn media don't realize they have skeletons and sometimes i feel they trash the original players fraternity they were apart of (not so much tim hasselbeck as he never crossed fully)... good for TO; rodney should think a little more before he starts saying crap... typical diabolical hater to disagree with TO when he really agrees just to be a right fighter.

for the record i think trev picked up pierre garcon on sept 4th (so i think this was before gonzalez's injury)... trev was onto (or on) something...

lastly, yes you are tripping for playing delhomme after treating him like the worst QB in the league for weeks now and he was going up against your team... there were plenty of QBs to choose from...some (most) better than delhomme... for your team's sake... probability would say the odds were in the cowboys defense's favor to have a good game at home and this is your team (just don't know how you root for a QB playing against your team purposely)... and DELHOMME is struggling... well i aint tripping, my team just didn't have it this week... none of my line-ups would have gotten it done.

  2. - Totally with Trey, Tebow got the concussion from his head bouncing off dudes knee. Helped provide the comment of the week, can't be too upset @ it.
    - I think you have to say Mark Sanchez is the biggest surprise so far this year. We're talking about a kid that really didn't ball out of control his last year @ USC, and couldn't beat John David Booty the year before. Now, he's providing clutch plays for an NFL team, kinda amazing.
    - Shout-out to Pierre Garcon! I picked up dude right after Labor Day banking on Anthony Gonzalez losing his job before the 1st month of the season reading the stories and watching some preseason footage.
    - The Bucs aren't going to win 4 games this year, why not start the rookie and see what you got?
    - That Brett Farve pass was so freaking sick! I gotta chance to watch (but not listen) to the game and both teams really look legit. I'm kinda interested to see the 49ers/Falcons game without Frank Gore.
    - Johnny Knox carries a Phoenix Crackhead card, chea!

  3. After watching the Tebow hit in slow motion I understand how he got a concussion.

I posted my thoughts on the Cowboys so referring to them as my team isn't exactly 100% accurate. The amount of emotion I showed at Ricky's last year when the Cowboys played the Ravens and how I have watched the games this year are polar opposites. There is no cheering, yelling, cursing, etc. Ask Emeka...

Trevor good call on Garcon and Knox. I thought Knox was going to be a 1 week flash, but he may get it done.
