i listened to that jay elect 3x on the seattle trip....this dude being from louisiana with the religious references i totally get...because of his production ability i say he is an equal talent to dre but straight lyrics, i still think dre might get 'em....we just haven't heard dre flow consistently in a while (when is he going to rap again for an entire album).
ReplyDeletehe can flow....definitely one of my favorite artists out right now....that eternal susnshine joint (its about 9 min long) is ridiculous (voodoo man is the best flow in that piece though while eternal is producer's dream). that nas tribute is sick and him over dilla tracks doesn't even deserve words....he is one of the few guys that when you listen to you immediately think artist first and (ev-very-thang else second). most emcess rap first to get a pay check and that's where the industry has gone wrong.
Yeah I agree, Dre hasn't put any material out for a minute so it'll be an unfair comparison but interesting to say the least.. Too busy with Hollywood, I guess.

Check out the video... He's drawing reference to events that occured in Bush's time in office. But yeah Jay Electronica is a dope dude repping the crib for ya'll
