What do you think of this Boldin deal?

Baltimore has offered their #1 and TE Todd Heap for Q. Wow, that's a pretty good deal, they need a TE.

  1. i like the trade really...

a mock draft has b-more picking this dude at 26
Baltimore - Darrius Heyward-Bey, WR, Maryland
DHB blazed the fastest 40 time at the combine, and it could result in him being long gone come this point. Crabtree and Maclin came off the board early, but then teams decided to go in other directions, avoiding the receiver position in this situation. He really could land in the teens somewhere after teams move around, but the Ravens are happy he’s still on the board. The Maryland product gets to stay home, and brings his ridiculous speed to a team in need of speed at the WR position.

i guess they could replace the WR position but i would roll with heap, urbans, breaston, and fitz (they still have yet to fit early doucet from LSU in the mix) and with the 26 pick i would draft D line/blitz LB help for dockett. if they could find a merriman/ware/seymour/suggs type they would be good. but as always football trades are complicated especially with the draft because of the money these guys demand...

  2. I like this trade for the Ravens, it is ok for the Cardinals. If Q is Mr. Glass as Emeka and mostly Ace (does Ace post anything on here) like to proclaim what do you call Todd Heap? He is so injury prone it's a surprise when he isn't on the injury report.

Baltimore gets to shed Heap's contract and get a proven #1 instead of taking a chance on a rookie. Plus Q isn't a "disruptive" player as some other WRs have been labeled. Arizona would eat Heap's contract and any contribution he makes would be a bonus. Arizona definitely could use the draft pick sense their running game is horrible and will only get worse when they cut Edge. They could also use some help on D.

But don't make the mistake of thinking Arizona's passing attack wouldn't be taking a serious hit. Kurt Warner and Fitz should be trying to sabotage this deal asap.....

  3. their passing game won't be the same but their receiving corp may be able to absorb the loss of Q say wayyyyyy better than the giants losing plax especially if the beef up their running attack just a little thru the draft. you know i like Q but the AZ receiving corp won't be totally depleted...i would worry about warner...how much longer can he keep this up....if they lose Q and warner say by week 5 (not wishing bad on warner but he is a year older) THEY WILL BE IN TROUBLE.

  4. Trading one Mr. Glass for another... Isn't Heap an ASU kid? Maybe the desert air will keep him healthy. I think the Cards will be fine with Fitz, Breaston, and a healthy Heap over the middle. It's intriguing. The real question is does this help Baltimore become a Superbowl contender? Not sure if 11 games of Flacco to Q is what they need. Emeka, isn't Baltimore one of your 7 teams??? What do you think?

  6. LOL at B'more being one of my 7 teams... For the record my allegiance is to 2 of b'more's teams - B Colts now known as the Indy colts and the B Ravens..
I like this trade for the ravens especially if they get the Maryland Terp speedster Hayward-Bey - fastest 40 time at the combine...
Hopefully Q stays healthy and Flaaco doesnt get bitten by the sophomore jinx. either way Troy Smith will be ready to take over if he does. Ozzie Smith knows what he is doing even though he seemed have missed on Todd Heap as a former no. 1 pick from ASU. Their last no. 1 picks have been money excluding heap - ray ray, flaaco, t. suggs, ed. reed - talk about having an eye for talent.
Q is no fitz but he will tremendously help the passing attack regardless of if the QB is Flaaco or "midget ass" Smith for Bmore because of his ability to take a short pass and garner mad YAC yards...

Lets get it in B'more.. (in the voice of the hous-yo-mama fantasy commercial dude) Championship!!!

  7. So I must retract my Todd Heap as Mr. Glass point. He has played every game in 3 of the last 4 seasons. So he could blossom into a threat with Arizona. I still like the deal more for the Ravens, not sold on Heap becoming one of the top receiving TEs.

  8. So what if they get Heap and use the pick on Noshawn Moreno??? You like the trade for the Cards now?

And Emeka, I know I've seen Cardinals, Chargers, and Eagles hats in your collection too... Don't front.

  9. heap is a good TE...the TE position is like the center position in basketball...depleted.

there are 4 A level ones (guys that put up #1 or 2 receiver numbers), a few more B level ones (guys that put up #2 or 3 receiver numbers) and then the rest (guys with 3 good games a year; maybe i cash in on that one)....

Heap is B level...if he is healthy he is always on somebody's fantasy team.

there's the class with gates, kellen, gonzalez, witten (A) and then there is heap, clark (des and dal), cooley, boss this past year (B)....oh yeah shockey flip flops between A and B

everyone else is a straight crap shoot with lj smith, mcdaniel, stevens, becht, spaeth, everybody else that ppl cut when they are on bye week...

put it like this if your TE has a bye coming up and you don't cut him to pick up some one else, then it is safe to safe your TE is for real and legit and heap is that dude...

  10. I can't agree with putting Heap in the B class with Dallas Clark, Cooley and Shockey (who is there based on potential). I would take Boss out of there too. I would say Heap has the ability to be a strong staple in the B category but he isn't there right now.
