Week 8 NFL Recap

I must begin by quickly mentioning that Trevor rolled me like Ugly Herbal last week in fantasy football 142-88 but that is not why there was no recap…

The Lions got their 2nd win by beating the Skins. Mike Shanahan, the genius that he is, benched D McNabb because Rex Grossman is more comfortable with their 2 minute drill… Really? Then Shanny said McNabb isn’t in shape. Neadless to say the Skins lost largely because Rex fumbled and Suh picked it up and scored 6. What pisses me off the most is that McNabb won’t say anything about the situation. Forget not making waves, stand up for yourself. This is one of the things I hate about McNabb, the Little Orphan Annie The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow approach to everything. But that wouldn’t make me bench him for Rex. Megatron had 3 TDs.

The Saints apparently need to be playing a good team in primetime so they can make sure to get up for the game. The beat the Steelers in a defensive game. The Saints defense looks like the 2009 version. They could be really dangerous when Bush and Pierre Thomas return.

The Bucs beat the Cardinals. I have been saying Josh Freeman is playing well and is better than Mark Sanchez for over a month, finally some others have started noticing this… Mike Williams, 4th rounder out of Syracuse is playing well, great for a rookie. Raheem Morris turned this team around quick (coach of the year?), it’s still early but the Bucs aren’t a joke…

I keep hearing about the Jets, but they lost to the Packers 3 FGs because Mark Sanchez is not that dude… Missed passes, bad INTs give Josh Freeman this guys weapons and you’ll see that dude. The Packers have been decimated by injuries and lost very close games but they are hanging in there. The key delta between the Packers and the Cowboys… Leadership

A week after the Raiders beat the Broncos senseless they beat the Seahawks down, sacking Hasselbeck 8 times. Jason Campbell is playing well. This team is 4-4 with an outside chance at making the playoffs. Imagine what a rookie salary cap and GM could do for this team?

The Patriots beat the Vikings 28-18 and Favre is being praised for his toughness for playing with 2 fractures in his ankle… His lack of mobility didn’t help his team. The Vikings did not look prepared for the game. Percy Harvin continues to reep the benefits of the attention paid to Randy Moss.
Brad Childress told his team Moss will be cut but apparently the owner hasn’t signed off on that… Maybe Childress will get fired. Why does he think Percy Harvin is blowing up all of a sudden? Compare Wes Welker and Percy Harvin game by game, there is an inverse correlation to their productivity, his name is Randy Moss!

Colts beat the Texans, Peyton wants MVP #4
Chargers beat Titans after VY gets hurt
49ers beat Broncos, Troy Smith getting it done at QB
Dolphins beat Bengals because Carson continues to suck
The Boys have quit so the Jaguars rolled them, time to clean house?
Chiefs survived the Bills
Rams beat Panthers

NFC:
Packers
Saints
Giants?
Eagles?
Not the Falcons

AFC:
Colts
Ravens
Patriots
Steelers

Fantasy Recap:

Think Jill Scott 3-5, L (Lucky pickup with Vick, why Kenya cut him I don’t know)
Mr Halftime Adjustments 5-3, W
Only 1 to beat Me 4-4, W

  1. team nick names are hilarious.... i was so pissed when i saw that he had picked up vick... khillas needs to give us a head's up when he is about to do something silly....

espn guys are saying shanny is laying the smack down for the long run to let folks know its his way or the highway... sooooo you kill the confidence and morale of your best player on offense and defense in the same season... he's trippin... i'm a gator; have fun with rex.

dumb coach number 2.... how can you shuck and jive for bret and take his insults and criticism of you constantly and have such a short leash with randy moss... randy may have had wrong timing but most wouldn't have taken his adorations and comments about the patriots as a DIRECT insult to the vikings organization if childress doesn't react like a child by cutting hima after 4 weeks with no front office consultation. look harvin is blowing up with his presence as stated similar to welker. best case the vikings could have harvin, sidney rice and moss balling out of control with favre finally motivated to win. worse case you have qb transition to jackson, harvin sitting out with injury and sidney not fully recoop'd post injury but if you got moss and AP you are still doing ok... at least the fans are happy. without moss this team could have a qb contreversy and the best wr being b twice... lond story short this is incredibly premature and immature.

yeah josh is that dude. also i have to retract my statement that mario williams is a btter pass rusher than dwight... i have both in my other fantasy league... free is balling...

  2. unless the previous report was ed werderlized, now the shannies are backpedaling on the mcnabb cardiovascular, endurance comments. saying that the cardio issue was an extension of his hamstring injury.... being injured and tired are two different things... if a guy is injured state that and don't let him play like the other 100 or so guys in the nfl that don't play weekly due to injury...

a reporter asked mike directly are you guys pleased with his work ethic in practice.... shanny says i am and if i were not i would share that with him and not you.... NOT EXACTLY.... THAT'S NOT WHAT YOUR IMEEDIATE PAST FORETELLS YOU DOING I.E. HAYNESWORTH.... stop it!
