  1. Man, I wouldn't have done that. They would have had to taken it from me. That would have been the only way I'd give up a Heisman I won on the field fair and square... I don't want to hear anything about eligibility... It would have to have been taken away from me... I wouldn't have given it up...

  2. i think it is a great PR move... no one would have dreamt to basically dispell all the myths, take control of the situation and say look the award ain't that important anyway... it's only important to the winners who couldn't pull their weight in the pros because for them that was the apex of their football career that is now over... bush won a super bowl title and is relatively successful in the league, has major endorsements....

its kinda like putting your GPA on your resume after you have been doing major things post college. you have moved on. you are a professional now... you don't need your GPA to validate your accomplishments.... if you are relatively successful post college and content you naturally place a statue of limittations oon your college accompilshments (at some point they no longer matter). but if you are dissatified with your post college career you may hold on to those "glory days when you were smart" a little longer....

  3. I agree with both Mosley and Trey's comments to a degree.

On one hand why would I care about any college athletic institution whether it's the NCAA or Heisman Trust. They both made money on his back. New Rule: If the NCAA wants USC to forfeit wins, then the NCAA needs to forfeit all the revenue they received from USC games Bush played in...

This is an ok PR move in my book. But I, who readily discounts all things done in college outside the U, think he should keep it. A lot if not most Heisman winners suck in the NFL but Bush is one of the few that got it done on both levels. A Heisman Trophy sitting next to a Super Bowl ring and a picture of Kim Kardashian isn't a bad trophy display...

  4. The bigger issue is "what happens if they wanted the award back?" Doesn't that mean they have to investigate every Heisman winner to see if they took checks, i'm sure Reggie isn't the only 1. It's too large of a Pandora's box, i don't think they would open it.
