Penny Hardway Trying To Get With The Heat...

I'm kind of indifferent to the idea of Penny Hardaway making a come back from retirement to play for the Miami Heat. I don't know how effective he'll be at his age but apparently he made some contributions while there. The Miami Heat right now is a very young team with a young head coach but experienced. My opinion about bringing in Penny Hardaway is a bit skeptical because I don't know how well he'll gel with LeBron/Wade/Bosh considering that he doesn't have a relationship with either. It'll be a dream come true for Penny H. but I personally think it's irrelevent at this point.

  1. in the words of sir charles, this is a "turrible" idea....

all you have to do is look at michael finley's, who is 2 yrs younger, drop off with the spurs and boston (age just creeps up on you).... penny was great (one of my favs).... but he can't run with today's nba for 10-20 min... maybe he can but i am willing to bet it would be a challenge.... and he is going to guard the likes of john wall... he keeps saying minimal role... don't know if i want a guy who pretty much has conceded to playing 5 mins a game. if he was playing overseas or something, that would be different.... i would have to see his 4x a wk workout.... if folks ask me how often i workout i generally give the max times per week i would work out given time not the average and i am not advertising myself for a ring or the league minimum.

  2. Whoa, I didn't even think about the scenarios of who Penny would be guarding. John Wall is a beast (Stand Up Raleigh, NC!!!!)... Penny has a better chance of joining the coaching staff for the Miami Heat. As you pointed out, it hurt my eyes to see Michael Finley get suited up every game night to sit the bench. Penny's legacy is too impressive to sit on the pine, that's not how I want to remember Anfernee!!!

  3. the last thing i wanna be is the old man at the club, all old drinking dark liquor, wearing a suit with a tie, or wear one of those steve harvey hats... this just points out how important a transition plan, exit strategy and get closure is in life .... maybe just maybe this is just what he wants to do, but I am having a hard time believing because of this "limited roll" stuff, maybe I am too prideful
