i had a question for ya'll similar to emeka's?

who wins in a basketball tournament (first to lose 2 is out):

with everyone in their prime by decade (kinda difficult to separate guys out but i will try---i tried to put the guys in the decade in which they were at the height of their careers)

(1) designates starter...ace stated team millenia would win but i just named starters in that case..does this change your opinion

team 80s:

(1) Magic, isiah, gervin, (1) glide, dr J, (1) larry bird, (1) mchale, james worthy, moses, (1) kareem
i am struggling with a back up to mchale so i will go with another small

team 90s:
(1) stockton, gary payton, reggie, (1) jordan, (1) scottie, mullin, (1) barkley, malone, (1) dream, ewing

team millenia:
(1) kidd, CP3 (sorry ace), wade or AI (who makes the cut), (1) kobe, (1) lebron, melo or pierce (who makes the cut), (1) duncan, garnett, yao, (1) shaq

i can't decide....i am partial towards the 80s team....too much clutchness

  1. I still got the 2000's team. Especially defensively. How do you score on a all-league defenders Kidd, CP58, Kobe, Lebron, KG, Duncan... Then throw in Shaq/Yao in the middle. Not sure anyone can score on that team. Plus athletically the team is silly. And you have assassins in Kobe and Lebron.

I think the 80's team gets beat athletically. The best athletes they have is Dr. J and Glide (which is offset by his inability to dribble without looking at the ball). What is Bird gonna do with Lebron?

The 90's team has great guards in Magic, Isiah and Jordan. Wade, Kobe, Kidd/CP58 is slightly outmatched, but it's very close. The front court clearly goes to the 2000's. Lebron, Melo, KG, Duncan, Shaq, Yao would own Mullin, Scottie, Mailman, Charles, Ewing/Dream.

    It's an interesting question...

  2. I'm adding Dennis Rodman and Anthony Mason to the 90s team. Mason is a stretch but dude was nasty in the paint....
CP58 hasn't made the millennia team yet, neither has Melo.

I have to take the 90s team over the millennia guys that are still playing. Not old enough to consider the 80s. All I remember is Jordan beating all of them....

Ace defensively the 90s team is definitely better than the millennia team... The Glove, His Airness, Scottie, Barkley, Dennis Rodman. The millennia team is compelling though.

I would consider swapping David Robinson for The Dream if we are taking chemistry into account, you know the center on the 90s team is never getting the ball....

The millennia team looks good on paper, but who leads that team? I'm adding a couple of PFs who aren't stars but could deal with the millennia front court, Dennis Rodman (should beand Anthony Mason (not a star but he would give the millennia team fits....

  3. the 80s team has no shot, the other 2 teams are simply way too athletic. If Magic was a 21 year old today, he's be playing SF or PF, for defensive purposes.

Sign me up for the 90s team, Jordan wouldn't let those boys lose. Talent wise, it's pretty close so the competitive spirit would be the difference.

  4. in the words of otis....YA'LL BUGGING.... rodman and mason get no consideration on the squad....

you guys underestimate magic's athleticism...he played all 5 because he is athletic....you guys also underrate kareem and moses....wow you guys say it is isn't even close really....bird could shoot anybody's eyes out...what does lebron do running around tripple screens set by kevin and moses and whomever while magic is posting the midgets....i got an answer for your bird vs lebron...he (and mchale and dr j) would foul and foul hard...lebron and 1s would dip 50%.

chase there is only one more year left in the 2000s...if you take out melo and cp3 who do you add....now we may be removing them in 5 yrs for blake griffin, durant, rose, mayo etc but right now this is the squad...i can see you subbing out melo for pierce and thats it

  5. oh yeah there's is no room for robinson with the dream and ewing...this is an all decade team and if chemistry kills their chances so be it...."d" up dream

  6. also you guys must be banking on a blow out....

if the 80s are playing any team and it is within 4 points with like 1:30 left no one is stopping magic, bird and kareem....not jordan barkley and dream, not kobe, lebron, and shaq....no one

i think isiah in his prime can keep up with and is better than any other PGs on this list...

what do you do if i switch up the lineup and play magic at the 3 or 4 with isiah at the 1....no one is matching up with isiah, gervin or glide, bird, magic, and kareem...are you going to force the ball to barkley/malone/duncan/garnett on your perceived mismatch at the 4 no because ball hoggers jordan, kobe, and lebron will not do that...THEY WILL FORCE A HORRIBLE SHOT MAKING IT 20% OF THE TIME

and the force it on 3 guys and miss, magic boards and starts the crazy fast break WITH ZEKE AND GERVIN, DR J OR GLIDE ON THE WING....

WE NEED A COMPUTER SIMULATION...ANYONE HAVE NBA LIVE AT HOME....
