obama "hate" sermon

http://www.cbsnews.com/blogs/2009/09/08/politics/politicalhotsheet/entry5294157.shtml

its just crazy how people distort scripture to support their twisted views..... a point was brought up about religion vs spirituality. i think for the most part they are nearly one in same but people like to separate the two into religion being the measurables/tangibles of man (does a person go to church...how often, does a person celebrate christmas....how hard, does a person stone adulterers) while spirituality is that which only God can measure/intangibles.... i think this is the distinction most people align to (however i think one dominates the other in the big scheme of things so in my opinion they are one in the same).

how do you preach a sermon that is anti-violence but want someone to mysteriously pop up dead (God forbid another day off work...what)?

i guess when you this nutty it is hard to fully understand one's reasoning so i will stop trying for now.

one more thing people kill me when they think God has some sort of prejudice for america.... i don't think God cares much about our man-made boundaries between one another such that he loves america and hates other countries (God is anti-oppression not anti one country or whatever).... i thought it was interesting that he seems upset that obama perhaps (didn't validate) made lite of old testament laws.... how can you be for america and democracy and want to establish a law and order of religious state (this is what they are for fighting against in the middle east in most cases)..... the biggest thing that is cemented in the historical design and evolution of america is separation of church and state. it is built in the constitution.... it always trips me out that the so-called lovers of this country hate that part so much (prayer in school, abortion, pledge of allegiance, sex education and the like).

  1. Obviously this motherfucker is crazy. I would love to see a video of this church to see the reactions of his cult. Yes I said cult.

People talked about Jeremiah Wright for a month, but this will be on TV for a week. And the sad thing is people don't understand Wright because they are dumb, ignorant and/or uneducated.

To his point, abortion is the most divisive issue in this country. There is no point to arguing about it, no one hears something that makes them switch sides. I think the only thing possible of making someone do that is being in the situation of actually having to decide whether to have an abortion or not.

My problem is the Jesus Freaks who think their religious views should determine how others live their lives. That and hypocrisy are my major issues with the church. The Freaks that rail against abortion don't say shit about poverty. I jokinglly refer to myself as a heathen from time to time but I'm pretty sure Jesus spent more time talking about helping the poor than abortions.

The only Jesus Freak argument worse than this is gay marriage. I say get it how you live and tell everbody else to shut the fuck up. Gay marriage doesn't impact me. It amazes me how Black people in the South can't draw the correlation to Civil Rights...

  2. one day my super conservative christian office mate was going on and on about how universal healthcare will be the death of america and obama is a socialist.....i told him jesus was the biggest socialist in the history of mankind and then there was silence....

like you point out what's funny is that some of these very people that are anti-abortion sometimes have taken part in it at some point in time....
