  1. if i coached lebron he would win...if lebron doesn't settle for jumpers outside the lane, its a no brainer....

i do see what kobe saying in reference differences in style of play (but even magic said he could win the scoring crown if he wanted)... but come on, everyone including me grows up playing one-on-one. a post game is usually important in one-on-one and although kobe is strong there and bron relatively weak, i just don't see it. kobe's post game is strong on smaller guys (kobe's a big two guard); when kobe plays against larger foes like real 3s he struggles i.e, melo and durant who i think would fare better than bron in one-on-one with kobe... all in all i don't see kobe stopping lebron when he does his running start to the basket from half court

  2. also this doesn't mean bron is better than kobe... one-on-one generally favors the larger player if both persons have relatively equal skill and talent level... thus if bron uses his size appropriately he should win....

there's also the heart factor which i give the slight edge to kobe... basically if the game is tight and both guys are gassed, i can see bron conceding victory before kobe would. but it shouldn't come down to that.

  3. Kobe wins this...

1 on 1 means no fouling out, Kobe won't let Lebron get to the basket and Lebron would settle for outside shots. He would lose.

What Kobe meant when he said he is a 1 on 1 player and that's how he grew up playing is he doesn't look to pass first. He has no problem shooting when he's not open. Lebron doesn't have that game.

  4. you may not foul out but there are still free throws... we are not talking 21... you have to keep some game integrity so the game doesn't turn into basketball in jail...

pass first doesn't matter... thats why i brought up magic.... magic was pass first and he could beat probably everyone in the league at his time that was his size or played the 1, 2, or 3 besides jordan and MAYBE BIRD (a few other athlete guys too). bron is more athletic than magic and has enough size that he should punish kobe (if he played disciplined and cared enough to win)... don't forget bron gets to foul too.

  5. To me one on one is a question of an individual's complete offensive arsenal. A good one on one player is able to score in a variety of ways and can adapt to the competition. Offensively, Kobe is the more complete package. He has a better post game, he can shoot with range, he can draw fouls, he can take it to the hole, he has skill with both hands, he's a good athlete, he has hang time, etc. Bron has most of this, but doesn't have a polished post game or the jump shooting skills.

Defensively, Kobe is the better on ball defender, he has quick hands, and good footwork. Also he has good recovery skills. Lebron is the physically stronger player and at this point a better athlete than old man Kobe.

The intangibles... Clearly Kobe is more competitive and the more intelligent player. Lebron can be goated into taking jumpers, when we all know that he should be taking it to the hole 100% of the time. And Kobe is the better clutch performer. If it's 9-9 going to 10 and Kobe has the ball... I'm pretty sure the game is over at that point. With Lebron, I'm not so sure.

Anyway, I say Kobe takes 7 out of every 10 games they play...

Regarding Durant... I really like Durant's game. Just not sure if he can hang defensively... dude doesn't have the quickest feet. But offensively, he is the truth.

  6. Let's put it this way... How does Lebron answer the question if he were asked? "Uh, uh..."

    Enough said.

  8. just because bron is abit more modest than kobe doesn't mean he can't beat him one-on-one....

it must be a while since you guys have played one-on-one... rebounding is huge because there will be missed shots.... he runs down the most missed balls... kobe can post up deron williams, j kidd, ray allen, wade, joe johnson, gino all day.... do you remember how much he struggled posting ron artest in the houston series, paul pierce in the boston series, and i don't even recall him trying against melo, durant, real 3s.... also he can defend these little guys too while the likes of melo and paul pierce was a little different... size and athleticism is huge in 1-1 and bron has both advantages. kobe's advantage is intangibles (competitiveness; guru mentioned IQ which i think is bs and means very little in 1-1; i think bron has the IQ to play 1-1 knowing when to pass and take sots is different and doesn't matter here; the game is simplified... he should be shooting).

i go with the tangibles over the intangibles where these guys are concerned...
