Week 2 Recap

First, why in the hell does Micahel Strahan have a sitcom? I really hope it's not coonery but I won't be surprised if it is. Someone will have to let me know cuz I'm not watching.

Well hot damn the Romo Friendly Dallas Cowboys thought they were the shit last week. Now they are wondering if the air has been let out of the baloon after just 2 weeks. When are people going to figure out the 2 scapegoats, TO and Ace's brother-in-law really weren't the problem... Felix and Barber could both have ridiculous seasons if their QB learns to stop throwing to DBs. And I don't want to hear that he didn't see the safety. Oh and I witness quite a few drops that one TO would have been berated for. Notice how ESPN has had to dial back the anti-TO rhetoric...

What the hell is going on with the Ravens offense? Joe Flacco is getting it done. Now that that is out the way.... Ray Lewis is still the best MLB in the league (I paused for 5 seconds and couldn't come up with another choice). What was Norv thinking sending lil Darren Sproiles us the middle? Doesn't he know that's where Ray Lewis plays? A sweep, pitch, cutback and they may have had a chance. The Ravens look dangerous...

Another reason to hate Houston. Last week Matt Schaub and Andre Johnson couldn't score a single offensive point and it contributed to my fantasy loss. This week those two get off and put up damn near 70 points against me. Probably still won't make the playoffs, I hate sometimey teams.

The Jets look legit, especially on defense. I love that Rex Ryan had the balls to talk shit, and then his team went out and backed it up. Mark Sanchez looks ok, he has a ridiculous team around him minus a WR.

The Patriots should be 0-2... Tom Brady looks rusty, Randy Moss looks old, their defense is paltry. I guess it's hard when you don't know the offenses play before they snap the ball. Oh but the refs definitely tried to give this game to the Pats.

Drew Brees is ridiculous. Didn't see the game (Emeka.... at least we didn't watch the Red Zone again).

The Eagles are going to struggle without McNabb especially against better defenses. What's going to happen with Kolb, Vick and Garcia? I honestly don't think Vick is ready to be the backup...

Heard the Monday night game was crazy. How did the Colts win when they only had the ball for 14:53 the entire game? Tell me Manning isn't the best QB...

The Dolphins as expected (by me at least) look like a flash in the pan. This is what Bill Parcells does. He has one great year and then medicrity sets in. You can fool everybody for 1 year when you don't have a real QB, it's not going to work twice despite the fact it worked on the Colts. Can we finally stop talking about Chad Pennington? It says something when your team is the most productive when you are on the sideline... Even more so when you are the "QB"

Haveven't seen the Vikings yet, looks like Brett hasn't disentegrated yet. Still don't believe it will work out up there.

The Bears stepped up big to beat an overrated Steelers team. Yeah I said it... No running game, a QB that can dig some holes he can't get out of and no Troy P... Better get ready for the Bengals...

Yeah I said the Steelers better get ready for the Bengals, their DE Odom had 5 sacks on Sunday and 7 for the season... And Green Bay has a better running game than the Steelers. You know Big Ben likes to hold on to the ball too long. Carson Palmer made some horrible throws on Sunday and while the commentator did his best to try and blame Ocho Cinco it was clear who the culprit was. This team should be 2-0, if Carson gets it together this could be interesting. Anyone want to give me odds on this game?

How are the Titans 0-2? They miss Albert Haynesworth a hell of a lot more now. To their credit there is no garuntee he would have the same impact if they had paid him to stay. At least I don't have to listen to the Kerry Collins is great bullshit. Lendale isn't making any noise.... Chris Johnson got off... Remember if we were in a keeper league you all would be dead, what I draft him last year, 7th round? Chiald Please

Not impressed by the Falcons. Stop jocking Matt Ryan, he has more weapons than almost any other QB in the league. He's good but I'm not ready to say he's a pro bowler or that he can get a team to the Super Bowl. They beat the Dolphins and Panthers.

The 49ers are getting it done right now. They beat an unprepared Cardinals team and an injured Seahawks team. Those are the games you are supposed to win. How many GMs which they had Mike Singletary droppin his pants in their locker rooms now? The
49ers went from being a joke to a legit team in less than a season... Coach of the year?

Didn't see the Jaguars play, but saw 2 horrible drops on ESPN. How does a WR let the ball hit him in the helmet? In the endzone? Yeah... That team could be in LA soon.

The Raiders should be 2-0 save a horrible call by the officials, didn't see the game but 7/24 passing from JaMarcus can't be a good thing.

The Giants looked good, Eli surprised me by stepping up. Maybe one day he will be worth his contract, I doubt it but there is now a 10% chance.

I am 0-2 in fantasy...

  1. i actually agree with most of your synopsis....SO ON TO BIGGER AND BETTER ARUGMENTS PROPOSED THIS WEEKEND....

is carson palmer a top ten QB?

    my ranking:
    1. P Mann
    2. D Brees
    3. T Brady
    4. P Rivers
    5. A Rodg
    6. E Mann (don't hate)
    7. Fatnabb (could be higher but hurt)
    8. Big ben
    9. K Warner
    10. B Favre
    11. J Cutler
    12. M "broke back" Hasselbeck

all tied at 13 (basically this means these guys are what and what with each other).
    Carson
    Flacco
    Ryan
    Sanchez (yeah i said it)
    Collins
    Schaub
    Cassel

in closing for me carson may be number 16 in my book... the dude did nothing with a top 3 wr corp in the league for three years in ocho, whoseyourmama, and chris "c-murder" henry (he is from south louisiana and reminds me of c-murda).

  2. Trevor we now understand how the name of your team is the Phoenix Crackheads....

    Not giving you:
    Eli
    He's getting there though...
    Brett
It's hard to turn and hand the ball to All Day?
    Cutler
Huh? No playoffs, the meltdown (kinda on the D)
    Hasselbeck
This guy can't even stay on the field
If he's better than Palmer, Q is better than Fitz...

The rest of your list is ridiculous

  3. ask yourself its 5:00 minutes left in the game and your team is down by 5 (TD wins).... i want all the guys i named running my team ahead of carson... he is a bum and he had the best wrs in the league for the most part...

bret was better last year without (the year before) AP. Cutler, hasselbeck, eli, oh snap i forgot romo would be straight with ocho and tj...carson is top 17 now. he is a step above jake delhomme (jake had two good seasons too including winning more than carson but i don't see you placing him atop of everyone)... winning something should not really be factored into an individual ranking...

  5. From this posting, my QB list: http://wolfpackaz.blogspot.com/2009/08/brett-favre-ends-up-with-vikings.html#comments

To answer Trey's question, if I would draft Farvee (and i'm not), he'd would not be in the top 10. Guys i'd take ahead of him are:
    - For Sure: Brady, Brees, Manning, Rivers, McNabb, Big Ben, The Replacement (A. Rodgers), Jessica Simpson's ex, Hassleback
    - Proabably: Cutler (alot of bitchassness here too), Ryan, Gerrard, and Eli

  6. I saw Trey's argument, immediately thought the author was smoking crack, glanced at the bottom and saw a "T" and my brain saw Trevor, owner of the Poenix Crackheads.

So I must apologize, Trey was smoking something... Mark Sanchez is better than Carson Palmer...

  7. right now i rather have sanchez...

carson's current play is slightly better than delhomme's. the reason why marvin lewis is on the hot seat is 85% carson's fall from grace. the guy was good but he got hurt and has not been the same.... what can i say.

in carson's last 6 games he has thrown 6TDs and 8 INTs. how are you defending this dude? in 2007 he threw 26 TDs and 20 INTs (his last complete season prior to injury) with ocho and housh... is that good? let's see what delhomme did in 2007....ok so jake got hurt after 3 games but in those 3 games he threw 8 TDs and 1 INTs... right about now they are starting to look alot alike though. jake played bad against a super bowl cards team and the eagles d (thus he is the benchmark for bad qbs), meanwhile carson is ranked top ten doing similar stuff with better talent...

let's just see... i guess you believe carson will bounce back... don't get sucked into rooting for folks because they were on HBO and you drafted ocho.... actually carson reminds alot of jon kitna...decent but not all world and worth being drafted top 10 in ppl's fantasy leagues. marv may want to start his brother if he wants to keep his job.
