Stephon Marbury Calls His Airness A Sellout!?!?!?!

Micheal Fake Jordan is a sell out. #Period. He forgot which hole he came out of. I said it "Stephon X Marbury"... MJ went from MJ the black cat to a guy who forgot he was a player. Sell your team if you can't make a profit.. Your just a regular dude now! ... When he rapped the Bulls for 36 million for one year no ones said nothing about that...

He's just a man. I know he's some people's GOd but real is real. Dude forgot he played and demanded millions... he wasn't my idol I just loved his game. He never did nothing that I knew about to change the life off of the court other then hit cats over the head for a 100 150 dollar sneakers and still doing it. Jim Brown said it best. Micky mouse type cat. Wave and break you pocket for as long as he can.

he didn't create nothing. The game was played way before him...

I'll be the first to admit that I don't know everything about the NBA lockout and I usually stay out of basketball conversations... Until someone brings up His Airness. At that point I usually have to jump in and remind people that he is the standard for greatness when it comes to sports. Tiger could have challenged him but that's another story.

Is His Airness a sellout?
NO! If I'm Michael Jordan I am pissed at the pampered, lazy, anti-competitive, twitter whores who currently reside in the NBA. They have taken everything he made possible and made fans resent it. How many players would have shoe deals without Jordan? How many players would have the contracts they have without the popularity of the 90s, which was driven by Jordan? People forget that Jordan was the first to start wearing long shorts, these fools took that so far that the commissioner had to institute a dress code. Yes, Jordan had a $36M 1 year contract, but did anyone ever question whether he was worth it? How long is the list of players who received max, if not close to max contracts, that cost much more than they were worth? Marbury is at the top of the list! That's why he's playing in China!

Stephon Marbury
Steve Francis (he and Marbury combined to make $32M in the 06-07 season)
Eddie Curry
Chris Webber $21M in 06-07
Michael Finley $19M in 06-07
Eddie Jones $16M in 06-07
Larry Hughes $13M in 06-07
Vin Baker
Gilbert Arenas
Rashard Lewis
Kenyon Martin
Vince Carter
The list goes on and on...

To wrap up, on the surface His Airness does seem hypocritical, but that's what overpaid undereducated former NBA players do. The NBA is no where close to the popularity of the 90s, it's going in the right direction but it's not close. The NFL is king right now. The NBA will not return to 90s popularity until there is real competition. We all know there are only 6 teams who can really win the NBA title. The Lakers, Mavs, Thunder, Heat, Knicks or Bulls. Teams will fall from those 6 and others will join, but are there ever more than 6 teams who have a chance to win? There is a complete lack of parity in the NBA.

Is Jordan being selfish? Maybe, but if you had hundreds of millions on the line wouldn't you be? I would. The Bobcats, the team Jordan owns, aren't competitive today. He needs a hard cap to force the breakup of teams with 3 all-stars. The NBA does not have a sustainable business model. Do the owners need 53% of the revenue vs 50%? I don't know, but I doubt Jordan cares about crushing these players he sees as a joke.

Amare Stoudemire Love for Fashion.....

David Stern has definitely stepped up the overall image of the league since enforcing a swift and compelling/ "controversial" dress code back in 2005. Like Chris Brown sings, "Look At Me Now"!!!!

His Airness Speaks to Lebron...

My thoughts on Lebron are well known, I thought this was understated...

Jason Whitlock:
Good googly moogly, I finally watched the Jordan-mashup-Lebron-commercial. No better clown suit has ever been stitched. Game over.

I can't wait to see what the following have to say:
Skip
Wilbon
Jim Rome
Broussard (the Lebron apologist)

- Who buys stuff this guy endorses, awkwardly chubby guys?
3. $60M Pretty Boy Floyd ($250K)
4. $46M Lebron ($30M) His endorsements should decrease...
5. $37M A Rod ($4M) People really don't like that dude...
6. $36M Shaq ($15M) Career earnings of $290M most ever...
7. $33M Kobe ($10M) Will make $30M in 2013-14, still less than MJ
- in '98 @ $33M. Think about that, that will be almost 15 years later
8. $31M Jeter ($10M)
9. $31M Peyton Manning ($15)
10. $28M D Wade (9$12M)
11. $28M Matt Stafford ($750K) Really???
13. $27M Eli Manning ($7M) Wow...
22. $23M Jermaine O'Neal
24. $23M tracy McGrady
28. $22M Darrius Heyward-Bey
31. $21M Vince Carter
49. $17M DeMarcus Ware

This reiterates my points that rookie contracts are ridiculous and guaranteed contracts have ruined the NBA.

Penny Hardway Trying To Get With The Heat...

I'm kind of indifferent to the idea of Penny Hardaway making a come back from retirement to play for the Miami Heat. I don't know how effective he'll be at his age but apparently he made some contributions while there. The Miami Heat right now is a very young team with a young head coach but experienced. My opinion about bringing in Penny Hardaway is a bit skeptical because I don't know how well he'll gel with LeBron/Wade/Bosh considering that he doesn't have a relationship with either. It'll be a dream come true for Penny H. but I personally think it's irrelevent at this point.

Press Conference of a New Era in NBA

The next Big 3?

Amare, CP3 and Mello?

According to a person who spoke with wedding attendee Amar'e Stoudemire(notes), Paul made the reference during a speech of a potential union of himself, Stoudemire and Anthony, saying, "We'll form our own Big 3," Paul allegedly said.

NFL and NBA players going broke

You guys have probably read this article... but here it is again!
"Look up the word “shortsighted” in the dictionary and you will see a picture of Latrell Sprewell."

Seven costly pro athlete screw-ups

This is a surprisingly high percentage in my mind...
"Almost 80 percent of National Football League players are flirting with bankruptcy two years after they retire"

Rich Eisen's 40 Yard Dash

Where do you think we would stack up?
Eisen ran a 6.25 in a suit and they transposed Cody from Alabama and Jacoby Ford from Clemson to compare.
I would beat Eisen and Cody, I can't believe that a guy that big is faster than me at 25.

Ooo Wee... I Couldn't Resist a Story About UF Bums!

http://blogs.chron.com/fantasyfootball/2010/02/it_feels_great_to_draft_a_flor.html

I have long railed against one of the current "great" college football programs that cannot produce viable NFL players and finally someone wrote and article and looked up all these bums. Maybe I will compare The U draft classes from those years...

The Z Report by Lance Zierlein
It feels great, to draft a Florida Gator? Not so much
For the last few years I've heard scouts and coaches ding Texas players for having too many prospects who are either soft or just too weird, USC offensive players for being overrated and underwhelming and Big 10 running backs for being too slow.

The team prospects that I'm starting to hear get more and more heat starting last year and carrying into this year are the Florida Gators. Sure, Florida has had a history of busts at the WR position, but I decided to go back and look at Florida players drafted within the first four rounds (typical rounds of impact) since 2001 and here is what I found.

2001
Gerard Warren, DT - Browns (1st)
Kenyatta Walker, OT - Bucs (1st)
Jesse Palmer, QB - Giants (4th)

2002
Lito Sheppard, CB - Eagles (1st)
Jabar Gaffney, WR - Texans (2nd)
Mike Pearson, OT - Jaguars (2nd)
Reche Caldwell, WR - Chargers (2nd)
Jeff Chandler, PK - Niners (4th)
Alex Brown, DE - Bears (4th)

2003
Rex Grossman, QB - Bears (1st)
Taylor Jacobs, WR - Redskins (2nd)
Todd Johnson, CB - Bears (4th)
Ian Scott, DT - Bears (4th)

2004
Ben Troupe, TE - Titans (2nd)
Keiwan Ratliff, S - Bengals (2nd)
Max Starks, OT - Steelers (3rd)
Guss Scott, S - Patriots (3rd)

2005
Channing Crowder, LB - Dolphins (3rd)
Ciatrick Faison, RB - Vikings (4th)

2006
Chad Jackson, WR - Patriots (2nd)

2007
Jarvis Moss, DE - Broncos (1st)
Reggie Nelson, FS - Jaguars (1st)
Ray McDonald, DE - Niners (3rd)
Marcus Thomas, DT - Broncos (4th)
Joe Cohen, DT - Niners (4th)

2008
Derrick Harvey, DE - Jaguars (1st)
Andre Caldwell, WR - Bengals (3rd)

2009
Percy Harvin, WR - Vikings (1st)
Louis Murphy, WR - Raiders (4th)

2010
I'll go ahead and add on Tim Tebow in now...

Tiger Wood's Mistress Wants an Apology?

This is hilarious... We've discussed this at length but this is the only video I have seen of someone actually asking for an apology from Tiger.
