Crazy Man Shot By LAPD

Manuel Jaminez a 37 year old construction worker from Guatemala was brandishing a knife and threatening people. He then threatened police.

Apparently he wouldn't put the knife down so the police shot him. I don't see the problem. At a town hall meeting one person asked why they couldn't disarm him? Another asked why the officer hasn't been suspended? An officer responded that the LAPD doesn't teach officers to take knives from people.

I think the LAPD was in the right, I haven't said that too many times. Officers already risk their lives, why should they try and take a knife from a threatening individual? People have unrealistic expectations. And no the officer shouldn't be suspended.

I remember when his poor judgement to run up on the stage and steal Taylor Swift's moment, I vowed from that point to no longer support this dude(via purchasing his albums, i still feel that way). Alvin Greene for US Senate?!?!?!?! WTH....

Is this what our political system has come to. This guy Alvin Greene from South Carolina has now become the democratic candidate nominee for US Senate repping his State. However, this dude sounds like he's mentally ill and for some reason he doesn't seem to be all there. Hopefully South Carolina can get to the bottom of this real soon.

Border Patrol Agent Kills Mexican Teen Throwing Rocks

So a group of illegal immigrants were being smuggled into the US and they were discovered and 2 of them were detained while the rest ran back to Mexico. Those that ran back to Mexico started throwing rocks at the border agent. The border agent told them to stop but they didn't. The article says the agent was surrounded, not sure how they surrounded the agent from Mexico. Anyway the agent fired his/her weapon and 1 of the teens ended up dead.

1. A human life was lost, that is sad
2. I judge these things based on how I was raised

Person throwing a rock at person with gun = person asking to get shot. If this had been me and I survived my parents would have beat my ass for doing something that stupid. I was told not to even talk back to the police just because you never know when they want to trip. Yeah police are wrong when they use excessive force, but is that what you want on your grave? And I'm a legal citizen. I'm sure Ruben Naverrette will have an editorial by tomorrow about how egregious this is.

I don't understand how the border agent was on a bike... That's a dangerous job and he has a bicycle? Nah that's not okay. The messed up part is the agent probably has a bullet proof vest but no way to get away if he/she is in trouble.

Hooters Girl Weighs Too Much?

You all should be able to guess where I stand on this. Girl you work at Hooters! The food is nasty, why do people go? To look at the girls, it's not TGI Friday's or Denny's or someplace like that. I don't like Hooters but I understand why some people do.

She is 5'8" and 132 lbs, and she isn't wearing it well enough to wear a Hooters uniform. They offered her a free gym membership and 30 days to improve which is nice if you ask me. Ironically the assistant manager is an overweight man, but no one is looking at him at Hooters.

I saw this last week, this young Black guy started talking shit to a 67 year old White man and they went back and forth. Then the young guy allowed a loud mouth instigator to convince him to get in the guys face not once but twice. And he got his ass beat.

Shawn Knowles-Carter

So apparently Mr. Big Pimpin' Jay-Z, aka Shawn Carter, and Beyonce Knowles have decided to combine their last names to Knowles-Carter. I repeat, Jay-Z is changing his name to Shawn Knowles-Carter. The justification here is that Beyonce's parents don't have any sons, so they want the "Knowles" name to carryforward.

A few of us discussed this via text last night. I (and Chase) think is this whack. How does a man take on his wife's name? Maybe I'm being old school here, but I think this is some estrogen imbalanced shit. Trey and Emeka (Jay-Z fan #1) understand the decision. Their argument is that Jay-Z doesn't like his father (thus he doesn't care about the Carter name), and it's ultra-important to Beyonce and not a big deal to Shawn, so he's making her happy. Some BS like that.

Beyoncé and Jay-Z are reportedly planning to change their names now that they are married.

The couple wed in April and have kept their own surnames until now.

However, the pair have decided to combine their last names and be referred to as Knowles-Carter - Jay-Z becoming Shawn Knowles-Carter and his wife Beyoncé Knowles-Carter.

An insider told the Daily Star: "They want to keep Knowles because Beyoncé's parents didn't have any sons.

"They're keen to keep the name going strong, especially if they don't produce any children themselves."
